Taylor Swift reportedly went out to dinner with Harry Styles after MTV Video Music Awards. He told Hollywood Life: ‘We went for dinner. I had a mocktail.’ While accepting her Best Female Video award at the VMAs, Swift joked: ‘I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is, because now I got one of these!’ At the New York premiere of 1D’s documentary This Is Us on Monday night, Liam Payne told to New York magazine, ‘When she said those things about Niall [Horan], we were very, very pissed off. Hashtag get over it. I was going to do a Kanye! It’s the best video of all time!’ What stopped him? ‘Kanye himself.’

Niall Horan joined in on it: ‘I was so upset that she would go writing songs about me after all we’ve been through.’ Liam on Swift’s speech: ‘I just thought it was a bit not needed. I mean, you just won an award, it’s like, concentrate on yourself!’ Asked by a reporter if he thought Swift’s behavior was ‘lame,’ Liam replied ‘Yeah.’

Taylor’s speech: ‘Wow. I want to thank the fans because I tweeted about this a lot, I really really wanted this. I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is, because I got one of these. Thank you so much!’ The camera quickly panned to Styles, sitting with the other four members of his boy band, who looked on awkwardly before joining the room in applause.

Not only that, but when the 1D boys bounced on to the stage to collect their ‘Song of the Summer’ moon man, the camera pointed at Swift clearly caught her mouthing ‘shut the f*ck up’ whilst the British pop stars made their acceptance speech. There was a palpable tension at the awards between the two ex-lovers who clearly still have beef and unresolved issues.

Liam Payne spoke about the reference to to her and Styles’ relationship in Taylor’s speech: “I just thought it was a bit not needed. I mean, you just won an award, it’s like, concentrate on yourself!’

Taylor told Australian Today Show about ‘Your So Vain’ duet: ‘Carly Simon is one of my favorite artist, and I just feel like if you were to ask me what’s the most perfectly written song in the history of songs, it would be ‘You’re So Vain’, so getting to sing that with her? It was just.. it was a dream.’ Who were you singing it for? ‘Who was I singing it for? Oh, I know, I’m impressed that you asked it, but um, but I’m not not going to answer it.’ On recording her new album: ‘I think it’s about to start to kick into full gear. I’m about to go into the studio. It’s about to get really intense.’
