Austin Mahone, ‘Bullies To Me To Go Die’

Austin Mahone revealed to TWIST: ‘When I started posting videos on YouTube, bullies told me, ‘You suck. Go die.” He was also harrassed on the street: ‘Me and my four best friends, we were the only city people in this country town in Texas. People were like, ‘Yo, cut your hair.’ We couldn’t have our ears pierced, we had to cut our hair super short to fit in. It was bad. And then with my music there was so much hate. They were just like, ‘Oh man, you Justin Bieber wannabe!’

Austin then moved from Texas to Miami to pursue singing: ‘My friends kept me going, but when I moved, I was like, ‘I don’t have to deal with that anymore. I’m gone.’ I guess being the type of person that I am, I used to let a lot of things get to me. But in this industry, you can’t do that. You have to blow it off and just dust it off your shoulder. You have to let it go, and I’m still working on that!’
