Since Miley’s VMA performance, she has sold 90,000 digital downloads of her new track ‘Wrecking Ball’ which debuted the day of the VMAs. According to MusicMetric, Miley has seen a 112% rise in activity over the week before, adding 226,273 new Facebook fans and 213,104 new Twitter followers from August 24 to August 28.
Miley sold a quarter of a million tracks overall this week, a 50% boost from last week–though, that number would be flat if the sales of ‘Wrecking Ball’ were removed. Her manager on the VMA performance: ‘It could not have gone better.’
