Lance Bass ‘I Know Gay-Closeted Celebs’

The Chronicles of Harry continue.. The Louis, Grimshaw & the Wardrobe. Lance Bass says he knows “tons” of closeted gay celebrities, but he has no intention of outing them any time soon. Could he be referring to One Direction’s very own Harry Styles?!

The former NSYNC’er appeared on Bethenny Frankel’s show, “Bethenny,” Sept. 19 and played a round of “Would You Ever?” backstage. He pulled questions out of fish bowl, one of which was: “Would you ever lie to help a closeted celebrity stay closeted?” “Yes, I would and I have,” Bass says in the episode set to air Monday. Lance said“I know tons of celebrities that are in the closet right now. But it’s up to them to decide if they want to come out or not.

And I will support any decision they make.” Last week, straight French actor Gilles Marini paid a visit to Frankel’s show and also discussed the subject of closeted celebrities, but he had a different take. “We’re in 2013. I think it’s very uncool to be in the closet nowadays,” he said, adding,”Don’t stay in the closet. You’ll only hurt your heart and, down the line, probably your family. They need to know the truth about what you like and what you want in life.”

The Rubin Report previously said to Lance Bass during an interview: ‘If you took one of these One Direction kids, because they basically are kids, my guess is one of them is gay.’

Lance then replied: ‘Well, statistically speaking, one probably is. It’s crazy with a market like that because 100 per cent is young women. And they fantasize about these guys, and then you have the record label and everyone grooming you to make sure that you don’t even mention you have a girlfriend. So screw the fact that you’re gonna come out as being gay. It ruins their whole business plan.” The funny thing is, Lance had a ‘girlfriend’ who was actually his beard, Danielle Fisher! Maybe is that the case with Louis & Eleanor?

Lance also revealed that during his time with ‘N Sync, he never even told his bandmates that he was gay. He said: ‘I felt like I had four of my best friends’ careers in my hands. I felt that if anyone found out that it would be the end of the group, everyone would completely make fun of us, and we would no longer make music anymore.” Do YOU think that if one of the One Direction members turned out to be gay, the would not be marketable anymore?
