Oh god….. I feel like I prefer the goth look

  • Anon

4 nominations including album of the year, Slaylor Swift everybody

  • Seriously

I really don’t get why Taylor swift still gets country noms. She’s just as pop as katy perry. Playing a guitar doesn’t make it any less pop

    • hell-o

Michael Jackson did over 5 genres.. no one said shit.. know why? bc people knew what actual music was those days..smh

    • Anon

Tbh, it was only a few songs off of red that were really pop. The others could be labeled as country. Her song begin again got nominated and that one is pretty country. So is her duo with tim mcgraw, which was also nominated. I don’t think katy perry can be compared to Taylor anyways

  • um

what?!?! taylor swift should have gotten more!!!

and why is robin thicke nominated ew
lorde’s a one hit wonder why

    wtf grammys

  • queenlorde

lorde is the queen bee haters and here to stay!

  • Why

I really don’t like Lorde’s nominations… She only has one single out and she’s already nominated wtf… I expected Best New Artist but not her actual nominations. I’m not watching the Grammys this time.

    • queenlorde

she has 3 singles and 3 videos, and she is the only female to be at the top of the charts for over 2 months this year! and her album is flawless,go listen

      • laura

she is just the new flavor of the week like Lana Del Rey was.
She’s trying too hard not to be mainstream that she actually became mainstream, in my opinion.
And her album is very repetitive.
I’m not saying people like Taylor, Selena, Miley, Justin or whatever should be nominated since their music isn’t exactly great either but I just don’t get the hype about Lorde.

        • anon

The best sellers singles always get nominated, just as Call Me Maybe got nominated last year although it is not the best song.

          • laura

quite sad that they don’t get nominated based on their talent.. that is so typical for every single award show there is in America.

    • BITCHEZ

So you’re not watching the Grammys just because Lorde is nominated? Wow, what a hardcore hater. You people bashed Lorde all the way, hating on her so much, and now you’ve got a SLAP in your faces because she was nominated for a fucking Grammy, being ONLY 17 years old. She has more than one single and her singles are REALLY good. Please, her songs are not the mainstream pop. It’s pop with QUALITY, quality in her lyrics. The lyrics are not cheesy, they have depth and are meaningful and the world NEEDS Lorde, people need to learn that good music is not that plastic pop that people like now-a-days. Good music is music with beautiful messages and depth.

  • ANGRY

WHY THE FUCK WASN’T ARIANA NOMINATED.

    • anon

Grammy’s voters like singers that write their own song and Ariana doesn’t, besides her album was not enough sucessful. Maybe next year

      • Anna

They don’t care about songwriting, half the people nominated don’t write their own music so you’re point doesn’t make sense. I think she just isn’t popular enough yet, but even the best selling album of 2013 wasn’t nominated(midnight memories).

        • LikeICare

If MM was released before Oct. then it might have been.

          • Anna

Lorde’s album just came out and it was nominated, so I don’t think release date was a prob. I just don’t think the Grammy voters like 1D since they are never nominated.

          • yup

uhh her album didnt just come out lol. its been at the top of the list (itunes and billboard) for a long time now and she had an EP before this which is also why she got noms too

          • LikeICare

            No.. Lorde’s album was released 27 September……….

          • Anna

sorry I don’t look at the charts often, thought it came out recently.

          • LikeICare

            its all cool

        • anon

Lorde, Taylor, Adele, Ed Sheeran are Grammy favorites and all of them writes their own songs.

  • HA

2 for you Lorde & none for you hoodrat cyrus!

  • ~ like NEON LIGHTS ~

    What about Demi?

    • say

none :9 only young person nominated is lorde ,but she deserves them tho ‘pure heronie is flawless’

  • trent

like i said to a friend of mine. no miley, selena, demi and bieber. i thank the real music gods. taylor swift should do rock and roll next or blue grass. or even jazz. but i have to admit this girl lorde is good. the nomination that i found incredible was pharrel. i think he should work with white people more often because he got some nominations thanks to blurred lines. i bet he’s going to work with bieber or taylor swift. you know to get more grammy nods.

  • guest

very happy with the nominations. a lot of my favorite artists were nominated this year. Lana Del Rey, Bruno Mars, Sara Bareilles, just to name a few. and I’m very happy that “We Don’t Know” from Safe Haven has been nominated for one too, I love that song :-)

  • Cecilia

    One direction? Where are they…

    • A

      LOL

  • Emmy

These nominations are a total joke. Nobody can even take the Grammys seriously. Honestly, Kanye West’s album “Yeezus” was BY FAR the best album released this year. The reviews have been insanely good. And Ariana Grande should’ve been nominated for Best New Artist, Album of the Year (Yes, it was that good), and for Honeymoon Avenue. So many other talented musicians are left in the cold in favor of the biggest sellers in the USA. I have no idea who even votes for this garbage. Sara Bareilles, album of the year? What a joke. I listened it to it, it’s not very good. I think “Applause” is better than “Roar”, honestly, and I don’t even like Gaga. It’s a well constructed song.

    • xoxo

People still take it very seriously. More that any other award

      • Emmy

Not more than the Oscars, for sure. It’s not a serious award. It’s a popularity contest, not one of artistry. The Oscars actually have some legitimacy.

        • laura

The Oscars aren’t fair either. It’s based on popularity as well..

          • Emmy

I am well aware they aren’t fair. But they have more legitimacy than the Grammys. I definitely think the acting nominations are iffy, but when it comes to best picture + screenplay, they tend to look at quality.

          • jinx

Popularity? Hell no! I remember of at least more than 2 Oscars that the movie that won Best Picture was a total fail in the box officer. Hell no, Oscars valorize quality and good movies. As for the Grammys… I don’t know. I think maybe this could the order of “taken more seriously”: Oscars>Golden Globe>Grammys.

i cant wait to see lorde slay
