JLaw ‘Should Be Illegal To Call People Fat’

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo playerJennifer Lawrence told Barbara Walter: ‘Because why is humiliating people funny? I get it, and, and I do it too, we all do it. But when I think it comes to the media, the media needs to take responsibility for the effect that it has on our younger generation, on these girls that are watching these television shows, and picking up how to talk and how to be cool.

So then all of a sudden being funny is making fun of the girl that’s wearing an ugly dress or making fun of that girl that’s.. And the word fat, I just think it should be illegal to call someone fat on TV.

I mean, if we’re regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words, because of the effect they have on our younger generation, why aren’t we regulating things like calling people fat?’ Do YOU agree Jennifer?

Jlaw is so perfect and such an amazing idol for girls. She’s talented, modest, beautiful, sexy, classy and confident. She’s literally the perfect role model and I think she knows thats exactly what she is to girls and likes it. Its refreshing to have a female celebrity embrace the fact that young girls look up to her.

  • Liz

She keeps giving me more reasons to love her. I don’t think it’s even a possibility in this day and age. Our generation is trying to break out of the chains, not implement further use of them. But she is intelligent, and she can see the harm it’s doing.

    • laura

she is not intelligent at all tbh.
But she indeed is a great role model for girls and women and she’s very real, down to earth and pretty much perfect :)
but please don’t call her intelligent cuz that would be a lie..

      • s

i would love to know your definition of intelligent

        • laura

          please don’t be a bitch.
she’s not dumb but she isn’t intelligent either.
I only have good things to say about her so please just stop because I am tired as fuck.

          • s

Are you ok? Since when asking your definition of intelligent is being a bitch? If you’re gonna say something at least deal with it

          • laura

No, I’m not ok. I’m tired af and all I want to do is cry tbh and that question definitely wasn’t meant to be nice.
Anywho, intelligence in my eyes doesn’t have to do with what you’ve studied but with what you’ve learned. It’s about acquiring knowledge and using that knowledge. And it’s not just about being good at math or whatever but it has to do with your mental abilities, having decent arguments to elaborate your opinion with.
She’s not dumb, but she’s not intelligent. She’s just average or smart.
In Dutch the line between being smart and being intelligent is way clearer so it’s kind of hard to explain this in English. I’m sorry.

  • Liz

By the way, I think she is one of the few young celebrities that can be so outspoken but not come off as annoying, pretentious, or self righteous…

  • A Cat

Yes, yes, yes. I love JLaw.

I like her more every day not just as an actress but a a person. This woman is a gret role model for girls all over the world.
If the media and government did what Jennifer has suggested here, problems like bulling, anorexia etc would be less and less common among children and teens, and we wouldn’t have to listen to such dramatic and sad stories like Demi Lovato’s (another role model besides her past).

Excuse any grammar/ortography mistakes, my English isn’t perfect, still learning.

  • laura

yet she thinks it’s ok to say that skinny is ugly and that real women have curves.
Now excuse me, but whoever identifies itself as a woman, is a woman.
And I get what she’s saying and I think it’s great and all but please just use your words more careful and don’t start insulting the naturally thin and curveless women out there. Then you’re just making the same mistake as all those ‘fat calling people’ did.

    • s

when did she say skinny is ugly? dont make things up

      • laura

she’s said that in so many interviews that it’s unhealthy and not good and what not.
Like I said, I think it’s great what she’s doing because calling people fat is just awful. I saw what it has done with my little sister: she was thinking about killing herself when she was only six. But then don’t go saying things like ‘real women have curves’ because then you’re no better than them.

  • Debz

I love her. And I want to be friends with her.
I work in the industry, and it would be so helpful to have her around.
I remember one time on set, they had too many extras and they were going to send 10 people home. This is what they said “Ok. TO be honest, we are going to send the 10 people we don’t think are attractive enough to be here. So if 10 people want to volunteer, that would be wonderful so we don’t have to pick you out.”
15 people volunteered…. It was quite said to watch.

    • laura

aww that indeed is sad but also I’m quite proud of those people who decided to go home: it shows that they don’t want to get fucked with, you know? :)
      fucking pricks though.

  • RedneckAtHeart

JLaw is amazing. She is the perfect role model for girls, hell anyone. We need more celebs like her.

she is such a big hypocrite, I remember vey well she compared skinny girls to scarecrows and saying it looks gross, honestly it seems to me she only says things like this because she wishes she were skinnier, I’m not hating on her but she seems SOOO fake to me.
