Justin Bieber Believe Movie FLOPS

justin-bieber-believe-flopped (1)Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ flopped earning $1.2 million on Christmas despite lame attempts to drum up publicity, reports THR. ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ opened in a race for first with holdover ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.’ Both earned at least $9 million.

Holdover ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ followed with around $8 million, while ‘American Hustle’ and new entry ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ contended for fourth place with at least $7 million. Are YOU surprised ‘Believe’ floppped? Is Justin Bieber fading?

I blame it on Justin’s bizarre tweet about retiring. Why bring everyone down with bad news just before the movie comes out? It was not a great movie by any means but with 48 million twitter followers, Believe should have done a lot better than $1.25 million or #14 on Christmas Day. http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2013/12/26/will-justin-bieber-retire-even-as-movie-tanks-thats-hard-to-believe/

This may hurt perfume sales :(

    • Duckyhoward15

Not his followers are real people though lol

      • A Cat

It’s estimated that about 16 million are fakes/spam.

        • Duckyhoward15

          Exactly

        • Guest

All of celebs have fake / spam followers, but media only brought and focused on Bieber, Katy Perry has even more and Gaga. But no one mentions that.

    • Silver

Problem is some Beliebers have 5 accounts each… Yeah, they have some kind of Multiple Personality Disorder….. So he definitely doesn’t have 48 million Beliebers. And one person cannot watch the movie 5 times on the same day… although you can’t put anything past those crazy ones ;)

    • Mellz89

Lol he tweet about that so people go and see his movie!! Not hurting it. Idiot.
He didnt realize that people dont care anymore since he become a huge d*ck!
Later than scooter said that hes joking? Just a year off? Lol.pethatic.

        • Username

Lol, what the hell? What are you even talking about? Who’s bringing her down? Did I mention Selena at all? No.
I don’t care about neither one of them, I simply stated my opinion on wishing someone failure and being happy for it. It’s pathetic, now save your comments full of nonsense for someone else, no one even mentioned your dear Selena :)

  • BangBang

If it wasn’t for OU I wouldn’t have known he had a movie out and even then I kept forgetting it. His promo team failed.

    • Guest

He’s not over, just because his movie didn’t have the biggest opening ( probably because of his bad press and very bad promotion ) doesn’t mean he is over. I am sure you all pressed fucks will be surprised when he comes back from his year off, hopefully will grow up while having time off as well.

      • boystan

        ok

  • hmmm

It seems that Open Road Films, the studio releasing “Believe,” suspected they had a stinker on their hands because they only put the movie in 1000 theaters across the country. The mere fact that Open Road
is the studio releasing the film could be interpreted as a sign of Hollywood’s declining faith in Bieber. Bieber’s first film, “Never Say Never,” which was released in 2011, was backed by Paramount, a major studio. It made more than $12 million at the box office its opening day and was released in more than 3100 theaters across the nation. “Never Say Never” went on to make $73 million in total ticket sales. “Believe” will likely struggle to make more than $25 million when all is said and done.

The reality may be that the movie just isn’t all that good. The film was not screened for critics, which is never a good sign. Open Road has conducted a fairly quiet marketing campaign for it without many advertisements. It appears the studio is mostly counting on Bieber himself to promote the movie through his huge social media following. “Believe” has so far gotten an astoundingly bad 1.3 out of 10 rating on movie tracking website IMDB.com. But it could be that a lot of the people rating the film there have not bothered to see it and are just Bieber haters.

On the positive side for the film’s backers, “Believe” reportedly only cost about $15 million to make (concert movies tend to be fairly cheap to produce) so the movie isn’t likely to send anyone into bankruptcy. It is worth noting that Bieber remains a big star overseas, raising the possibility the film will do well internationally. Still, it is hard to see a $1.25 million opening as anything but a theatrical flop. Bieber has 48 million followers on Twitter, but he couldn’t even convince many of them to see his film. In a year that has seen lots of controversy and disappointment for Bieber, the lack of believers in “Believe” could be seen as an indication that the teen star’s popularity isn’t as strong as it once was.

  • Ciara

Maybe if they promoted it better and put it out in more then just lame 1000 theaters it would do better, because from the twitter and mostly people who aren’t even his fans they said it was a good movie and they liked it.
Maybe if he kept it his act together and got a better company and better promotion it wouldn’t flop.

    • lol

Why more empty theathers? They didn’t get a better company because his image is tained said by Scooter Braun himself.

  • ivan

I know the writers here seem to be Selena and O.D. fans but here are the facts: This movie was privately funded at a cost of 4 million. The movie has been booked on only a third of the theaters in comparison to his earlier movie in the U.S. Thousands of his fans have yet to see it. In Christmas it had to complete with movies that got good reviews and are more mass market movies. Believe was not released like a regular movie so only fans and friends that pre ordered tickets could see it except for those dependent on parents to take them. It has not yet been shown in theaters which are booked so before considering it a total flop, how about waiting to see how it does in the long run? It, in my opinion, will do very well for a mainly documentary film. Documentaries of this sort should not be expected to do as well as Lord Of The Rings. Also, a lot criticizing it have not even seen it or don’t like him anyway.

    • Mellz89

Really? I dont think so..the movie flops hard. Face it beliebers.

      • ivan

It was pre order if you check before Dec 25th reports, maybe now the general public can go.

        • damn

          They won’t. 4.3M estimate for 5 days

          NOTEWORTHY: Justin Bieber’s Believe ( OPRD) / Theaters: 1,037/ $1.3M Wed. / $1M Thurs.

          • ivan

Some people are so anxious for the movie to fail they even say it’s not good when they have not even seen it; I just saw a tweet from a guy who said that and then admit he did not see it. Anyway, The movie opened on Dec 25, today is Saturday N.Y. so it’s been out for 4 days. Saturday is just starting; how do they get 4.3 million for 5 days? That would mean it already made up what it cost to make.

  • ivan

Let me add, that for a person supposedly fading, he gets more articles on his purchasing a dog than most pop stars and celebrities today on anything; furthermore he has just been named the top social media personality by Billboard. His latest album has been at the top of i tunes [temporarily knocking Beyonce off] for 5 days. His concert tour was one of the top of 2013 and 2014 despite some problems of lateness and sickness. Finally he has 48 million followers on tweeter, not fake, as some think. Katy perry does not have more genuine followers than Justin as a report indicated.

    • lol

Not really. And lol Justin doesn’t even have a song in the Top 60 on itunes and I’m not even sure if the album went to number 1. If it did, it was obviously for a very short time considering Beyonce is still at the top. His concert wasn’t really one of top of 2013, he was ranked number 13 by Billboard. Not even all of his shows were sold out. Taylor Swift had more capacity to fill than him and she still managed to sell out every show. And yes, most of twitter followers are fake or empty accounts. Katy Perry has a bunch of those too. He sort of is fading, probably should’ve gotten his act together.

      • ivan

You are misinforming the readers as usual. Yes, his album was number 1 worldwide on itunes for a couple of days in over 40-50 countries. After 5 days, it’s still in top 2 worldwide. If you check billboard, you will see he sold out more concerts than One Direction. the 13 rating does not reflect his entire tour. As for tweeter followers Socialbakers who originally did the report misinterpreted by the media indicated justin has a high number of genuine followers in contrast to Perry, Obama, and Gaga. there is another report that indicated that. Wish I could post the web address here.

      • ivan

I can’t post the web address of socialbakers but you could look for the article on google setting things straight, justin bieber does not have fake followers. This is the organization that did the original report misinterpreted by the media to show half of his followers are fake-not true!

        • ivan

There is another report showing katty perry has far less genuine followers than Justin but i have to find it.

        • ivan

fakers.statuspeople.com had the other report that showed only 9 percent of Biebers followers are fake in contrast to katty perry who has 52% fake followers. Justin has 78% good followers, Perry has 12%. So Justin is genuinly the most followed person on tweeter.

        • lol

I found the article. Still says that 31 percent were either fake or empty and 17 percent were inactive. He’s obviously got some fake followers. What do you think those “free follows” and saved accounts on twitter are? And I don’t doubt that Katy Perry has less followers, I said that she has a bunch of those too.

          • ivan

I might be considered one of those fake or inactive followers since I don’t meet the criteria of following 50 or more people for example.

          • lol

There are a bunch of people who only follow him and have three or less tweets. Those are considered the empty and inactive accounts, otherwise known as the saved accounts and such.

          • ivan

That was me for a time and I am sure a lot of others who followed him just to read his tweets. Anyway I am going totally blind from typing so much so have a nice evening. I have bad eyesight to begin with Lol

          • lol

Lol believe me I know how bad eyesight feels. You have a nice evening too

          • ivan

As a final point, everyone down the list has fake or inactive followers. My point is Justin is still at the top from all indications in those two reports I mentioned.

          • lol

Of course everyone has fake or inactive followers. This wasn’t even really about that.

  • Dancer145

Nobody wants to support a 19 year old ass who just announced he’s retiering. Why give him more money so he can just sit on his ass and do nothing. I knew this was going to happen.

    • ivan

He’s been performing and traveling almost non stop in the last few years; he does deserve a break. You want him to burn out? Even One Direction and Selena[who are never criticized here it seems] are taking long breaks? Justin is NOT retiring permanently-only for a year or so from concerts and the media, if the media leaves him alone.

      • dancer145

Trust me I think not only does he deserve but also needs mentally to have a break to get his shit together. But if he was just going to take a break which I do believe he will he should have worded it that way. Because more than not people are going to take it as him retiring rather than just taking a break. He has the money to also but it would be a horrible choice because of how stupid he’s been acting.

  • BrokenArrow18

Is it bad? I wanted to watch it because I really like concerts movies :P

    • yep

It’s bad don’t watch it and the reviews were bad too ;]
