Young rich white men scoundrels lording their success over poor African black children to make themselves feel important and take a tax deduction. Guaranteed, no money will be exchanged, no black person will become remotely wealthy, from this visit. Power to the man! Yeah!
You're clearly not from the UK, because if you were you'd know how much Comic Relief does for people in Africa. One Direction's trip to Ghana has nothing to do with them being celebrities but to raise as much money for people less fortunate. The children in Ghana won't know who One Direction are, they'll just know because of 1D doing the official Comic Relief single they will get a better life.

A better life ? I can tell you're probably just as naive and oblivious to the situation as the poor children. No amount of relief can help these people. Not saying it they shouldn't be grateful but c'mon.
Furthermore, people have the misconception that only people in third world countries suffer when the reality of the matter is, people in their very country have it far worse than those in Africa per say.
Though, I must say, it's nice to help. Just a smile will make anybody's day, a little hint that someone else cares but don't say they're being given a better life. It helps yes, but life will always be what it is and that's my point. I rest my case. Thank you

------ i'm actually 14 thank u very much ... and i know i'm condescending. i'm asian, chinese to be specific
I think you'll find in 2011 Comic Relief raised £74.3 million for people in Africa, not just children but for whoever needed it. The whole point of Comic Relief is to raise money for people in 3rd world countries, because as a majority they need the money more. Each year in the UK there is Children In Need, which also raises a heck of a lot of money but for children in the UK, so as a country we are raising money for hundreds of thousands of people over the year. Ever since Comic Relief launched in 1985 it has raised over £750 million, that means we, as a country, have half saved the lives of millions of people, by digging wells, providing mosquito nets, building schools and providing medical care. If you don't think Comic Relief does anything for these people then you seriously need to re-evaluate your life.
