  • @nn@mmm

I hope Idina Menzel performs Let it go.

  • Cici

  • laura

My baby Leo better wins this year or I’m going to burst out in tears… And Broken Circle Breakdown better wins as well! That was one incredibly beautiful film :)

    • Akari

He won’t win this year. It’s a strong year for actor. Either Matthew, Bruce or Chiwetel will win the oscar.

      • laura

The only one who has a shot is Chiwetel, the rest are just meh.
If Leo doesn’t win it, I want him to get the Oscar.

      • in jesus name i pray amen

        who da fuq is Chiwetel??….

        • ISeeSparksFly

Chiwetel Ejifor. He’s the lead in 12 Years A Slave.

          He should win. Amazing performance.

          • Queen Amanda Bynes

nope , Matthew should and will win :)
            Chiwetel was good too though

  • :)

I think Lupita Nyong’o is gonna take this one.

    • Godney

      I really hope she does.

  • Shailene Woodley

I really hope Leonardo DiCaprio wins, partially because I like him and he’s a good actor, but mostly so that everyone on Tumblr can stfu about him not having an Oscar. If I have to hear one more joke about the subject, I’m going to lose it.

  • Mimi

I don’t want Leo to win. He’s a great actor, but he’s not a humble person. That’s why a lot of people like for Jennifer to win, because she’s so taken aback and feels like she doesn’t deserve it. Leo has the complex of walking around KNOWING he should get nominated and should win, as well. Between great actors who are down to earth and great actors who are pretentious, I’d rather the down to earth actor win.

    • mileyshairrr

I think Jennifer is a bit overrated, in my opinion. I think it’s just a trend now to give her award nominations, (not to mention, she’s gorgeous and sexy and most of the Acadamy voters are older men) but she is humbled when she gets them. But she isn’t Meryl. Leonardo is a grumpy old guy who isn’t the gorgeous young thing everyone saw in Titanic (come on, he’s handsome, but he’s not nearly as pretty as he was back then) and he’s not tall, so he has to chase Oscar bait films and date models to feel worthy. Either way, Matthew or the guy from 12 Years a Slave will win in Leo’s category.

      • Clauber

        A lot overrated

      • Godney

” date models to feel worthy” does he force them? cus i would gladly date leo.

Yeah he isnt as cute as he used to be in titanic but he never wanted to be the “oh cute guy”, he wanted to be a good actor, he is a good actor who doesnt need his looks.

    • NutellaNips2

i don’t want Leo OR Jonah Hill to win. they’re both douchebags. i wish everyone would fucking shut up about Leo never winning when people like Alan Rickman have never won one EVER, and his work is better than Leo’s. Leo can wait. Jen was great in american hustle, but its gonna mess up her career if she wins twice in a row.

      • Clauber

They were playing a role, Leo has been playin great roles like Inception or shutter island without being nominated, he has worked so much more than other new actors who have won

        • Godney

yess!!!, Leo has work soo hard!, i loved shutter island and inception . There are also alot of other actors so have been shut down by the oscars like will smith but leo is who shows his work more out there.

          • laura

The Oscars aren’t even that much about talent anymore tbh.. Mark my words, Wolf Of Wall Street won’t win because it’s too provocative and too political. Nonetheless, together with 12 years a slave, it’s the only movie worth it’s nomination this year.
Same for the non English spoken movies: it is all about butt kissing. My country is nominated and they spent months in LA to promote their film and to be considered likable and whatnot. (I have a hard time explaining this in English, sorry) But it won’t win either since Italian and Danish movies have a larger audience than Belgian/Dutch movies.
The last few years, I’ve been really doubting the Oscars’ credibility..

          • Godney

I know :(, WOW and Slave wont win. I dont even think Lupita will win :(.
I KNOW alot of non usa movies are so damn good. Once a movie from my country was nominated too.. it was the first time but it didnt won.
It was about the strugges of being a inside house nanny… really really good

          • laura

            Probably not :s
Oh which one was it? I would love to see it!
American movies just have this totally different vibe to them.. There’s some good directors out there though but still :p

          • Godney

Here is the trailer, its in spanish tho.

The movie did so good in Canes and others films festivals.

          • laura

            Thank you!
I’ll see if I can find it in store somewhere :)
Ugh I swear, our film that is nominated now has won every single price they were nominated for and I already know they’re not going to win an Oscar… Fucking sucks.

          • Godney

Yeah oops, my bad. That movie wasnt for the oscar, there was a huge controversy in my country because they decided to send another movie to the oscar that really… it wasnt as good as this one nor did as good outside as this one.
Here is the actris at the Golden Globes.

          • laura

Haha it’s okay :) I’m definitely going to check it out!
Ugh why would they do that? That’s just so stupid..
She looks awesome btw! So down to earth.

          • Godney

She is tho!. i saw her on the subway one day, iDressed just like any other regular mom walking with her son. I was so startruck, i saw her with eyes like “OMG I LOVE YOU!!” but i didnt wanted to bother her asking her for a picture.

          • laura

Aww that’s so amazing! That’s what I love about European ‘celebrities’, they have this humility that many American celebrities don’t have. Like there’s this really nice coffee bar in my city and a lot of Belgian celebrities go there and they are all so sweet and humble. And the cool thing is that there’s only couches so you get to talk with people you don’t even know, celebs included haha
I even met Veerle Baetens once and she is the woman who is in Broken Circle Breakdown and omfg I thought I was going to faint! But she was incredibly nice :)

          • Godney

That is so cool!, oh here the “new generation of celebs” think they are so cool … but the old school like her are so humble and they know where they started, and i love that.

          • laura

It’s the most amazing thing ever and the coffee is soooo good haha
I think they all just want to act like american celebs :p but here they are quite down to earth but idk apparently our country is known for humility and stuff like that. One time the guy from House MD (can’t recall his name, shame on me), kind of insulted our country during an interview and we thought it was the most amazing thing ever just because someone said ‘Belgium’ haha he apologized later though but he was right :p

    • Clauber

Well, you know, it is not a popularity contest, isn’t it?

    • laura

It’s not because he knows that he deserves that Oscar, that he’s not a humble person: it’s fucking common sense. Leo is an extraordinary actor.
Jennifer on the other hand, is a good actress and absolutely gorgeous, but compared to the actresses she’s always competing with, she is nothing. She doesn’t even deserve those Oscars..
I even think it’s all a facade. Like her talking to Taylor: if you payed attention to Taylor’s face, you could tell they weren’t friends at all. Hollywood is all fake…

    • Dara

I agree with some of the stuff you said, but really you get an Oscar for your performance, not your personality.

    • in jesus name i pray amen

Umm… Leo & Jennifer are not in the same category lol.

    • Godney

Whats so bad with knowing he should get nominated and should win.. have you seen his movies?! god daming he should have won an oscar for so many movies he has dome…
And Jennifer is overrated as fuck.

      • iWizard

He should have won for Catch Me If You Can. That movie was pure genius.

        • Godney

          yesss!!!! i LOVE that movie.

  • BrokenArrow18

yay I hope leo wins this time

  • Sara

I hope Lupita Nyong’o wins. I love Jennifer, but Lupita gave the winning performance.

    • ISeeSparksFly

Lupita was amazing. That whole movie was amazing. To be quite honest, I really have no clue why Jennifer was nominated again. Her character isn’t challenging or strenuous to play at all. American Hustle is COMPLETELY overrated.

      • Sara

I agree completely. It was an entertaining movie, but no way does it even come close to all the other movies. I mean, 10 nominations?!?! Really?! The only one who truly deserves it I think is Amy Adams for Best Actress.
But Jennifer… she was barely in movie for 20 minutes and all she did was play a loud housewife. Her role in Silver Linings earned her an Oscar, American Hustle should not.

    • Queen Amanda Bynes

I loved Lupita, i thought she was gonna win the golden globbe for sure, its hard to say who will win the oscar .its def between her and jen

      • Sara

Well, Lupita won the Critics Choice award so I think she’s more likely to win the Oscar. The Golden Globes are more of a popularity contest anyway.

  • cerenagee

    good for you bby<3

  • Marina And My Diamonds

Leonardo has been trying to get an Oscar since like 1956. Just give him one already, he should of had one when he did Titanic. Hell he should’ve had one back in 1993, his acting was beyond amazing in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. I’m rooting so hard for Steve McQueen and Lupita Nyong’o as well.

    • threelittlebirds

lol, i giggled at the 1956 part

    • cerenagee

Bahahaha since 1956. You kill me girl. Totes agree he should’ve got one for titanic.

    • Queen Amanda Bynes

i know i think back then they were stingy with age because he was like 19/ 20 and they gave it to an older actor.

  • leo<3

im not hater but jeniffer should get nominated. you go leo<3

  • anon

chris hemsworths body should get an oscar

    • boystan

  • Dara

Come on Leo, you got this!! God, I am PRAYING that Leo finally wins! Please, please, please!

  • Jess

I think Jennifer is going to win for sure, she already won a Golden globe and as everyone knows when you win a golden globe it’s because you’re gonna win an oscar, well most of the time. so I don’t think Lupita is going to win.
they were both great but Jenn’s peformance was really different from last year and she sowcased her versatility in this one.

  • marlene

Jennifer is a fantastic actress, we have to admit it but compared to what Lupita did this year, Jenn’s performance is pretty forgettable. Jenn always gets nominated because she’s a newcomer who is actually worth watching and who works hard and who simply lands the right roles. It happened to her but it could’ve happened to anyone as talented as her. She may be nothing compared to the people she usually competes against but it’s because she’s young and she hasn’t done as many movies as Meryl Streep, to name one. We know Meryl (along with so many others) is a legend but Meryl has been around for a pretty long time and someday, Jennifer will have been around for that long and we’ll think that some other new actress is nothing compared to Jenn. However, as much as I love J-Law, Lupita deserves it this year. And as for best actor, I’m rooting for Leo because on top of him working ever since he was a sperm to get an Oscar, his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street is incredible, I think Chiwetel is the only other strong candidate. Best Supporting Actor: Michael Fassbender, hands down. Best Actress: Cate Blanchett.

  • ilovejlawslayence

    You go JenCoco!!!!

  • boystan

    she’s gonna win

  • boystan

no noms for saving mr banks?

    • Dara

Wow, it was so good it deserved an Oscar? I wanted to see it, but I never got the time.

    • in jesus name i pray amen

it looked like a snoozer to me… that trailer did not entice me one bit.

  • boystan

  • 547

    only here for jared leto
I think jenifer is funny and sweet and down to earth but she’s an overrated hillybilly clown let’s be honest

oh, both jenifer lawrence’s and jared leto’s initials are j.l

  • Letty Mendoza

I am so over Jennifer Lawrence and this trend to give her awards. Her part in American Hustle was not that big and it wasn’t that great. I honestly think she seems fake and ungrateful. If she doesn’t believe she deserves it then she must have not put her all into the role and she really doesn’t deserve it.

    • ISeeSparksFly

100% agree. If she wins, I will be super pissed off. American Hustle should not even be nominated.

      • iWizard

American Hustle was a horrible movie. I can’t even believe that it was nominated.

  • ISeeSparksFly

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE and adore Jenn, but I was pissed when I heard she was nominated again. Actually, I was pissed when American Hustle was nominated altogether. It’s a good movie, but by no means is it fricking Oscar worthy.

  • Alexis Smith

Saving Mr. Banks should have gotten more nominations

  • Queen Amanda Bynes

Jen was amazing in American Hustle ,everyone who hasnt seen it go!

  • iWizard

Wolf of Wall Street was basically porn. Do actors get awards for porn now? The West has really regressed now.

(And to those who will try to say something stupid like “It wasn’t porn – it was art!” you’re who I am talking about. Probably stared at the screen, didn’t you?)

    • laura

If that’s your opinion, then you’re lacking intelligence and maturity.

      • iWizard

        In your opinion, of course.

        • laura

          And many else’s.

      • iWizard

printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings.

        • laura

You must watch some serious fucked up porn then because, just a your little definition explains, the movie is not about ‘stimulating erotic feelings’. Et en plus, which sexual organ did you see besides a plastic cock hanging out of Jonah Hills’ pants? Very erotic indeed…

          • iWizard

Pardon me? I believe the point I was making was that a film should have substance; it shouldn’t be an excuse for people to watch porn in public. You clearly enjoy watching such…graphic materials, so I’m not even going to bother arguing with you.

P.S. Watch your language; there are children who visit this site.

          • laura

Did you even watch the film?
The point I am making, is that this film is one of the best ones released this year. Talking about the greed and stupidity of America and you say this doesn’t have any substance? I’m not even a fan of American movies but this is a fucking masterpiece! You are so fucking dumb it makes me cringe..

          • iWizard

Again with the swearing. Do you even read?

Porn with a story is still porn. I am done arguing. Get an education and then come talk to me.

          • laura

I can swear as much as I want, sweetheart :)

Funny thing, I actually did have an education and am now in my second year of university, whoops.
Also, porn revolves around sex, even if it has a story. This film does not revolve around sex but revolves around the story and that story contains some explicit events. It’s not because there are explicit scenes in a film, that it therefore is a ‘porn movie’.
So, how about you go watch some more Disney movies? They must be just alright for your level of intelligence ;)
I hope no one kisses in them though, that’d be so gross, right? –‘

  • Emmatome

Leo deserves it. His entire career is huge, and so was The Wolf Of Wall Street. I really hope he wins.
As for Jennifer, as much as I love her, she doesn’t deserve a second oscar, especially for this role. I’m glad she won last year, but she shouldn’t this time. Like, she’s a great actress and stuff, but this role is overrated.

  • Godney

Leo better fucking win this time!!

( i wouldnt mind if Chiwetel Ejiofor wins tho) but still.

  • Bailey

i love jlaw but im gonna be so fucking pissed if she wins over lupita.

  • iWizard

Captain Phillips should take all of the oscars; it was spectacular. My heart was pounding the entire time. You should all watch it.
