Good Luck Charlie 100th Episode Finale + Disney Same Sex Parents Support

Good Luck Charlie‘s four-season, 100-episode run will come to a close on Sunday, Feb. 16, with the hour-long send-off of ‘Good-Bye, Charlie,’ Disney Channel has announced. In that final episode, Teddy finds it hard to shoot a final video diary for her little sister Charlie, while Amy and Bob plan a special going away party for their college-bound daughter. Will Teddy’s ex-boyfriend Spencer be a surprise RSVP?

Good Luck Charlie will air an episode (this Sunday, I have confirmed) that features same-sex parents in a subplot “developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness,” the cabler previously explained. Are YOU happy that Disney is now open to featuring same-sex couples on their network? Are you happy/sad that Good Luck Charlie is over?

Props to Disney! First a same sex couple in frozen and now one in this show :)

    • oodon

there was a same sex couple in frozen?

      • laura

Yeah, the guy in the store pointed at his husband and kids who were in the sauna :)

        • oodon

omg, wow, i can’t believe i missed that bit!

          • laura

Honestly, it took me a while to realize it as well because it was such a short and fast fragment. Which somehow is kind of sad since it turns out a lot of people didn’t even notice. But whatever, I am already glad they are doing this.

    • Elizabeth

I did not see a same sex couple in Frozen, girl.

      • laura

The guy from the store, he pointed to his family in the sauna and you could see his husband with their little kids. Took me a while to realize it too so don’t worry :)

    • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

It is not Disney’s job to tell kids about homosexuality.

      • laura

Well, then it’s also not their ‘job’ to have black actors in their shows. You’re so ignorant.
It’s a channel which millions of kids watch and all they ever see are straight couples. It is good that Disney shows that there are also same sex couples and that there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s the same like them finally having a black Disney princess, which was still unfortunate since she was a frog most of the time, but it is a start.

        • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

You cannot compare slavery and segregation with homosexuality.

          • laura

I’m comparing racism to homophobia, you really are stupid.
Because both are based on ignorance.

      • amy

Is it Disney’s job to tell kids about anything? No. If a parent doesn’t want their kids to know about homosexuality then I guess they shouldn’t let them watch Disney channel or pretty much any tv for that matter. The only thing Disney has the responsibility to do is to provide content that is acceptable for children. Things that are generally seen as unacceptable for children are drugs, alcohol, cussing, violence, and sexual content. There is nothing unacceptable about a same sex couple. Same sex parents are a very real thing and there is no reason that Disney shouldn’t put a same sex couple in their show. The children who watch this show may already have a friend with same sex parents or will have one eventually. Disney should show children all sorts of different families because that is the reality of the world.

    • A.U.

There wasn’t same sex couple in Frozen. That would be incest then…. The two main girls (Anna and Elsa) are sisters.

      • ANon

Yeah there was, that shop keeper that goes “hoo hoo” or whatever, when they show his family it’s a man and their children

      • laura

Do you honestly think I am stupid? Gee, just read what I wrote above.

        • A.U.

No, I did not think you were stupid. I didn’t even insulted you in that comment. Gosh…
I just thought you implied the two main characters.I didn’t think the shop keeper was homosexual. But thank you for telling me.

          • laura

Ah ok, I apologize then :)

  • SamD

    So proud of Disney <3

  • laura
  • A Cat

I’m actually kind of sad to see this show ending – it’s definitely a lot better than the other shows Disney has been putting out the past couple of years. The guy who plays Spencer is cute so I’m glad he’s coming back for the series finale.

  • Clauber

This is the only good Disney show,at the momentoh no!, the final episode :(

  • Rosemary

    Wow, 100 episodes!

  • Rah

Very happy that they are including same-sex couples, very important and commendable of them.

  • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

This is depressing. How can anyone be this stupid!?! We shouldn’t tell our children about same-sex couples. That’s just ridiculous. Leave children out of this. This is not serious enough to be exposing this sort of things to young children. This is a stupid idea and should be panned. I have nothing against, but children should not be exposed to a same-sex lifestyle. Young children watch this show, and it is strictly inappropriate for any child under the age of 10 to be introduced to such a horrid thing. Same Sex marriage is not the future of America, and i feel like their is no need to tell children about it. We should just calm down, shut the heck up, and wait a couple years before we tell 8 yr. olds that two boys and two girls dating is normal.

    • NOTAmandaBynes?

It’s not like they’re telling them to be gay, and the kids probably won’t even notice. Hopefully this generation will be loving and caring and understand that it is normal.

      • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

God created man and woman, and THAT is normal. Yes, same-sex couples is happening, but it is not technically labeled as NORMAL. I am not calling them freaks or anything, but that is not the way it is supposed to be. Children should no the difference between right and wrong, and even if the same sex couple has a major or minor appearance in the episode, children should not be exposed to that. The fate of humanity is going to be screwed.

        • anonon

why shouldn’t children be exposed to love? love knows no gender. and seriously, why do you care so much if same-sex couples is happening? its not like anyone is forcing you into a same-sex relationship. why do you care about other peoples love life? does it affect your life in ANY way, that two women or two men are in a relationship? seriously, gtfo.

          • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

Your asking me how it affects my life in any way. Hmm, let me freaking think. Oh, how about this? How about when I have children, one day they will ask me if they should like men or women? How about when I taking my child to school, they have to see to people of the same gender holding hands and kissing? It’s not going to affect me, but how do you think it is going to affect the future? Children should be exposed to the type of love that is normal.
I think everyone should live the life that they want to live, and no one can tell you who you want to love. I have nothing against, I’m just saying my opinion. Or did the constitutional right get removed?

          • laura

PEOPLE DO NOT DECIDE WHETHER THEY ARE GAY OR STRAIGHT! educate yourself!
Your kids won’t come up to you to ask you which gender they HAVE to like, they will find out themselves. it is in your fucking DNA and you can’t do anything about it.
Also, kids do not become gay when they are surrounded by gays: it is not a fucking disease!
You say you have nothing against it but you’re lying. You can’t stand their guts and you’re a disgrace. Here, that’s my opinion.

          • amy

“one day they will ask me if they should like men or women?” HAHAHAHAHA did you ask your parents whether you should like men or women? I doubt it. People do not choose to be straight or gay. People who are raised with straight parents and are surrounded by heterosexual couples still end up gay. Knowing that gay people exist does not make you gay.

        • boystan

you need to shut your fucking ignorant mouth

          • in jesus name i pray amen

Seriously, im literally getting a headache from looking at the back of my head so much because of how many times ive rolled my eyes at their comments.

          • boystan

it makes me so sad that there’s people like this in the world

        • in jesus name i pray amen

Why can’t it be the new ‘normal’…? If things were normal nowadays, people would not be having teenage pregnancy, nor would people be having intercourse before marriage — BUT GOD KNOWS THAT SHIT AINT HAPPENING. Why do you say the fate of humanity is going to be screwed? JFYI… the world is WAY overpopulated at the moment, so educate yourself a bit before talking shit tbh. Homosexuals could actually do the world some good to normalize the world’s overcapacity. There are some countries that literally do NOT have enough room to produce food for the people that live on the land. Even in AMERICA, we outsource and ship foods from other countries cuz we dont have enough of our own land to do it on.

    • boystan

This makes no sense at all. You’re basically telling me you do have something against same sex marriage. Why shouldn’t we tell childen under the age of ten about it? There’s kids who get made fun of for having two dads or two moms, AND THAT IS NOT OKAY. BEING GAY IS A NORMAL THING PEOPLE AND SOMETHING YOU CANNOT CHANGE. You do not get to choose if you like men or women at certain age, you’re born like this and have no choice. SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD WE HIDE THIS FROM KIDS? They should know that this is normal and should seen like a straight couple. IT IS FUCKING 2014. I seriously cannot with your ignorance goodbye.

      • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

I cant hear you, speak louder please! But keep it short with the all caps, you might break your keyboard. But I guess that’ll be a good thing, because with a broken keyboard you might learn to shut up.

        • boystan

it took you madonna’s whole life and 3 decades to write that weak ass comeback smh. grow the fuck up you sick bitch.

    • Rah

You have your religion have disgusting ideas. You are the problem with America. I pity your future children and the brain-washing influence you’ll have on them. I pity your hate and ignorance, and hope one day you realize that you manipulate the words of your “god” to justify your own hate and intolerance.

      • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

first of all, im not using god as hate or ignorance. It is a fact that he created adam and eve, and if you can tell me otherwise, please do so. Pity yourself. You have no respect for all the people who are telling their opinions. Pity yourself. My children will be just fine and wont have to worry if their gay or not because i am going to raisie them the way god wanted me to.

        • Rah

You are using your God to hate. You are a hateful person and it’s very sad. I don’t want to have a debate on the evidence behind your religion, but if he did create Adam and Eve he created multiple Adams and multiple Eves. And then Adams fell in love with Adams and Eves fell in love with Eves. Your children won’t even have the chance to have their own opinions and ideas about love and what is right or wrong. And you, are wrong. You have no respect for homosexuals, and that disgusts me. I have zero respect for people like you. It’s a little bit ironic that I think you should be treated in the way that you believe homosexuals should be.

          • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

The heck are you talking ’bout? Their is only one adam and one eve and one of those meatheads ate the dang on apple and then stuff starting going down. I am not going to bash whatever religion you cherish, but I do not believe in mulitple adams that fell in love with each other. So my views on this is totally bias when it comes to you.

          • Rah

I meant that there is not one man and one woman in the world anymore. There are billions of both sex. I know our views are different, but yours are hateful, cruel and damaging to a lot of people. I like to believe that people like you are not the majority and that one day everyone will have access to human rights that people like you want to restrict.

          • YouCouldShutTheHeckUp

Ok because i really wake up in the morning and say that i want to make fun of homosexuals on the internet. i am not homophobic or racist or anything. nah. i am just a regular person just posting my opinions. hateful and cruel is not a word to portray me at all, and if you knew me then you will understand. i truly respect and didn’t mean to hurt anyone who read this. i didnt attend to make fun of anyone or “damage” someone. when will someone actually listen to what other people have to say when they dont believe in what you believe in? I am sorry “Rah” if i said anything that is hurtful or may drive a sword through your religion. i am sorry and if you decide whether or not you want to accept my apology, it is entirely up to you.

          • Rah

I think you are homophobic. You think that homosexuality is abnormal and it’s something that children shouldn’t be “exposed” to. That is homophobia. You’re literally afraid of your nonexistent children, or other people’s children, seeing homosexuals interact in a romantic manner. You haven’t driven a sword through my religion, I’m agnostic. I only hope that your children have the chance to make their own opinions on homosexuality, and I really hope that you won’t be the sort of parent who abandons their child if they are homosexual.

        • laura

Science has proven that God did not create the world and that homosexuality is decided by your DNA.

        • amy

Let me pretend for a second that I believe in the story of adam and eve. The reason that god would have made adam and eve rather than “adam and steve” is because if there were only 2 humans on the planet they would need to reproduce. It would not have made logical sense to create only two human beings and have them not be able to reproduce. That however, doesn’t mean that just because the 1st two humans were straight that all other humans are supposed to be straight.

    • in jesus name i pray amen

It’s about ‘accepting’ others for their differences, not ENCOURAGING it. I don’t think you get the point.

  • nina

It is Disney so i doubt they are doing it for the sake of humanity, it’s mainly a ploy to bring in the ratings and people spending money. If they feature same sex couples they are not gonna be lovey dovey since pretty much straight couples in those shows are not that lovey dovey in the first place. Yes, we should explain to kids since early age what homosexuality is, of course, in my opinion only if they ask. If you don’t like a show with homosexuals then you have the right to boycott but you can also turn the tv off and give your children a book in case your are worried this world is going to the ground.

    • LAChris08

Disney has been gay friendly for years. This is who they are.

  • boystan

i don’t watch this show but i can’t begin to explain how happy it makes me that this is happening

  • Jess

The “new” America. Immorality at its best. Ugh!

  • Marina And My Diamonds

Wow I’m going to actually miss this show.

  • doubledeelovato

yoooooooo homophobes, just ’cause I can get down and dirty better than your boyfriend doesn’t mean you gotta bully. along with the fact that gays can get down and dirty better than you wish you could.
I don’t judge you for being straight, even though I’d rather not see y’all pawing at each other. keep yo’ opinions to yourself. love thy neighbor, god is forgiving blah blah blah. if he didn’t love him some gays, then why is there lesbian porn riddle me that pEACE
