Miley ‘I’m Finally Free Of Liam & Disney’

miley-cyrus-free (12)Miley Cyrus told ELLE: ‘I’m really thankful that I started on Disney. I got the most intense training. There’s times where I wish I could have just started as a new artist, but the world has kind of allowed me to do that.

I feel really lucky, a lot of kid stars get all crazy or stuck in what they were, so they can’t actually become what they’re meant to be. When I went through a really intense breakup, you know, I was engaged,

And when I was with him or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn’t there to carry me anymore or if I didn’t have him.’

And now I’m free of both of those things, and I’m fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I’m totally okay, and that’s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn’t have a boyfriend.

I have guys and girls that come out, and they’re like, ‘The only reason I’m able to admit that I’m gay is because you’ve made me feel like that’s okay.’ That is so intense, because that is a part of this generation, it wasn’t always accepted, and I feel like I am a big part of that change.

Or they know that I’ve struggled with depression, and that helped them get over theirs. That gives me a big purpose, a reason to wake up in the morning that’s bigger than to put on my f** king feathers and my little outfits..

..I’m just about equality, period. It’s not like, I’m a woman, women should be in charge! I just want there to be equality for everybody.. Guy rappers grab their crotch all f**king day and have hos around them, but no one talks about it.

But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model b**ches around me, I’m degrading women? I’m a woman, I should be able to have girls around me! But I’m part of the evolution of that. I hope.’

  • Marina And My Diamonds

She’s a little misguided with a lot that she has said. She think she’s helping women with equality but it’s more of men looking at us like sex objects even more. I don’t feel like she’s helping and that’s my opinion on that.
I believe her when she says she’s OK about being free of Disney but the Liam part I don’t believe. I think she’s ok as far as not needing someone as a partner and that’s healthy because a lot of girls think they’re nothing without their significant other. But that break up broke something in her and I don’t think she’s given herself private time to properly heal.

I’m definitely not apart of that “no one talks about the rappers grabbing their crotches” because I find it disgusting and I know plenty of people who do.

    • smiler101

I think she’s right in a lot of things you.know… She’s not saying look at me I’m so sexy, it’s more likely I’m a girl and I can party all night and have a bunch of guy friends and that doesn’t makes me a hore…

      • Godney

She is not saying that tho, she doesnt have guys around her dancing, she is saying she wants (and has) “sexy bitches” dancing for her

        • smiler101

I though she said bitches as for hot guys, lol, I must misunderstood something… However for me she is doing what she wants and we all should respect that as long as no one gets hurt… I wish people in my country could be ready to let girl do what they want but we are really stuck on the girls should stay home and have kids position…

          • Godney

But the thing is that she uses the excuse of being a “feminist” and she is not being feminist at all… she can do whatever the fuck she wants but not call it feminist when its not

          • smiler101

Well you have a good point, there’s no reason why to label what she does as feminist… It’s just her being herself :)

          • Godney

But she is labing that “feminist”… so she is not being herself, she is only “feminist” when its good for her image or an excuse to do shit

          • smiler101

Look I know she might be wrong in somethings she says but it her life and those are her choices so we all should let her live and care only about our lives. Not because she says she’s a feminist all the other girls out there will act like that…

          • Godney

Why is always the excuse “its her life”, she decided to put her life out there so i can have an opinion about her life.

          • smiler101

It’s not an excuse, it’s the true. You can have and opinion about it but you have no right of judging her for what she does. Even if you make your own life public on the social media world that doesn’t mean you have to let people tell you if what you do is right or wrong…

          • Godney

in a part that is true, but if she was in front of me i will tell her all this , cus someone has to tell her this.
She needs to learn things, you cant open your mouth and then call it “oh im just living my life”

          • smiler101

I bet we all need a little bit of an intervention in ours lifes but also I’m pretty sure she does know really well what she’s doing wrong and what she’s doing right, it’s just that she’s willing to take the consequences of her acts… we all are her to make some mistakes but hopefully what we do right is more important than that ;)

          • Godney

Wow finally a smiler that can really put a good point out there :D

          • smiler101

Thanks. I love her with all my heart but I don’t agree with everything she does. Anyways it was nice to debate with you! :)

          • Godney

yesss!! being a fan is not agreeing with everything your fave does.

          • smiler101

Exactly! I don’t like some of the things that she does but I stick up with her for all the good ones that she does.

          • Queen Amanda Bynes

what happened to your other account?

          • Godney

its the same, but how i made it at my house but now i use it at work this shitty disqus gets them confussed somehow

          • Queen Amanda Bynes

            oh alright <3

          • JoeJonasTroops

            which country are you from?

          • smiler101

            Guatemala. And you?

          • JoeJonasTroops

I live in australia, but i know how you feel because my background is iraq

          • smiler101

I totally understand you… I hope things are different in Australia :) still our countries need to evolve but it will take time… at least with this little things happening around the world we have a better chance of a change! Do you still have family in Iraq!?

          • JoeJonasTroops

well actually me, my two brothers, my two partents is all the family i have here in australia, i love this country so much

          • Queen Amanda Bynes

ahh, I’m from williamstown, i miss it so much!

what part of oz are you from ? :)

          • JoeJonasTroops

            Melbourne :)

          • SmilerForJoe!

Completely off topic, but, hey! I just moved to Melbourne from the Gold Coast. Small world, huh?

          • JoeJonasTroops

wow all the sudden everyone’s from australia lol

          • Queen Amanda Bynes

thats crazy, i dont need to tell you this but you’ll love it haha

          • Queen Amanda Bynes

            wow thats so awesome :)

          • smiler101

I’m really for you been in a safe place where you can leave your life with more freedom but let me advice you something, don’t forget about your home back in Iraq, we on the little in trouble countries need to stick for ourselves and not just leave;)! however I bet Australia is a beautiful country!

    • Godney

      Agree soo much with this!!
I think of myself as a feminist, but when i see her all about sex and body image sell… it makes “ew”, because we women arent that at all.
If a girl wants to use her body and sex appeal to sell i think its completly ok, but she really takes it to another level and it doesnt get the point

      • Marina And My Diamonds

        Exactly.

      • nic

but shes not about sex at all. once again you’re one of those people judging for the wrong reasons. please tell me how she uses sex to sell herself? shes about freedom. doing whatever the fuck she wants because she fucking can. she showing the world and other girls out there its okay to be whoever the fuck you wana be. do whatever the fuck you want. i love that. does that mean im going to do what she does? no. i wish i had a silver of the amount of confidence she does. she does not use feminism as an excuse. she does what she feels like. simple as that. its not her that regards women wrong. its you and everybody else thinking thats what shes doing that does. just because you see what she does, twerking or sticking her tongue our or whatever you miss judge it and call it disgusting meanwhile she just simply said she does it cause she can and she wants to. other girls should be able to do that too. not in the same regard but you get what i mean? i look at it that way. you look at it the wrong way. simply at face value when there is a whole deeper meaning. so you can not call you self a feminist. you are quite the oppisite.

        • Godney

all i read here is “blah blah blah blah” oh and read her interviews… she is using feminist and she is using sex to sell.

  • smiler101

I love her even more each and everytime she does an interview! she’s so real and sweet in a unique way… I totally agree with her! Hate the fact that if you as a girl hangs out with a lot of boys you are a bitch but if a boy hangs out with a lot of girl his a handsome and cool guy… It’s so unfair!

  • BrokenArrow18

too lazy to read lol but I love this photoshoot

  • laura

Well, women should be in charge though. Men are fucking idiots and we all know it. Recently there was this female Belgian politician and she gave this speech and this is what she said: Should we not sometimes, become as provocative, as the prejudices we’re confronted with?
90 % of traffic accidents are caused by men
    90 % of our prison-inmates are men
So where is the logic to entrust men with 90 % of the seats in the Board of a company?
Should we not develop our own version of anthropology?
Men have been programmed during many thousands of years to behave in conflict, to master violence if needed, to fight for their place and their territory, to operate in terms of power and struggle
The question is: are these still the master-skills of the twenty-first century?
Or are women better-programmed, more practical, more ready for compromise and dialogue?
    It is a tempting thought.
    http://annemieturtelboom.be/speech-van-annemie-turtelboom-tijdens-de-plenaire-zitting-van-het-wereldforum-voor-vrouwelijk-leiderschap-van-de-oeso-te-parijs-3-april-2014-2/

This is really something to think about.

    • laura

That being said, I love this photoshoot. She looks gorgeous!

      • thecat61

I, too, love her photoshoots. She’s such a natural.

        • laura

Tell me about it, she looks like she isn’t trying and I love that about her. And I am seriously in love with her hair like that! I hope she keeps it like this for a while, suits her very well :)

          • thecat61

I can’t even picture her in long hair again. This is her look now.

          • laura

Me neither! She looked great with her long hair but short hair suits her so well. It’s really become a part of who she is now.

          • JoeJonasTroops

i wish everyone in my school understands! this look is signiture miley cyrus and they’re just ike “ew her hair was beautiful! did she go crazy and chop it all off or something?” and I’m just like… ARGH!!

    • GentileJewel

You’re a Pig! Shocking that You would sound like a feminist!

    • smiler101

That’s a speech that we all should here at least once in our life! I totally agree with what she said! Women are smarter than men in so many aspects! Like if the most of the presidents were women I’m pretty sure there would be less wars and they would be more interested in the hunger and economic evolution than in who is the.most powerful president and wich nation is about all the other ones…

      • laura

I normally don’t agree with anything this woman has to say since my father is a lawyer and all the courts hate her guts because she is messing up so much. But her speech was just incredible. I am so glad someone said what every woman has been thinking. And I hope it’ll change something in the world.

        • smiler101

She must be a hard-core feminist… To me someone should just step up and show that women are capable of the same exact thing that men do and that we can even do some of those things better… Your dad must be a gentleman to handle this lady since she seems to be a really hard person to control:)

          • laura

Honestly, it doesn’t even have to do with being feminist anymore. It’s just about equality for everyone which is something we don’t have.
Haha he doesn’t have to handle her personally but the changes she’s been making for the courts are just ridiculous.. That’s why most lawyers and judges aren’t too fond of her.

          • smiler101

At least judges and Lawyers in your country are willing to follow the right process and doing thinks right and I guess you do have a good point, it’s not about who is.more capable or important but about how everything would be better and more useful if we all are at the same level…

          • laura

Oh right, there’s a lot of corruption where you live, isn’t it? There was a documentary about it here recently, it was seriously disgusting..
Yes, exactly. The world would be a much better a place if people started to realize that women aren’t ‘lesser creatures’, that people of a different race aren’t terrorist or gangsters and so on. It will take a lot of time though.

          • smiler101

Yes, I know, we definitely need a new good president who truly care about the country but most of them are just trying to get money… And the sad part is people doesn’t care anymore, they all just say it could be worst wich is kind of unbelievable you know…
Exactly! We all should stop judging other or pretending that what we do or the.things we believe in are the only ones that are worth of attention or respect! it’s just not about politics or laws anymore but about humanity and religion not bringing others down… We all need just a little bit more love and respect not only for other but for the world.

          • laura

Sometimes I am so disappointed in humanity. There are plenty of people out there who care but they don’t do anything about it. Like, a lot of Europeans care about this, I am pretty sure North America cares as well but for some odd reason they aren’t helping. Or not enough. It’ll get better, I hope.
Omg you couldn’t be more right! I can’t wait for the day that everyone thinks like this :)

          • smiler101

I think and it’s not like I’m trying to be rude or anything but it’s easier to control a country that is on poverty and doesn’t have that many opportunities that a country that’s is capable of doing a change. I’m pretty sure there’s good people out there who truly think we deserve a chance of growing up but for most of them as long as we need to agreed and support other just to get some help is better…
Maybe in the future we all get to see a change but unfortunately this generation it’s not doing well, all we care is about social networks and Internet and so…

          • laura

Definitely, sometimes I believe they choose to keep certain countries poor. I mean, we all know the American government likes to keep their citizens dumb (http://www.businessinsider.com/these-time-magazine-covers-explain-why-americans-know-nothing-about-the-world-2011-11?op=1) so stuff like this doesn’t surprise me anymore.
If I had any power, I’d make a change but I’m on my own so it wouldn’t be much help. But it’s something, I guess. Oh don’t underestimate this generation, we are far more involved with the problems happening these days than the generations before us and I think it’ll only get better.

          • smiler101

That’s a really accurate article! The main problem in North America is that they only care about themselves, we in Latin America don’t get to care enough about ourselves and that’s our main problem, we all need to stick together just like people in Europe do! And I totally agree that there’s a big part of our generation that is willing to.do something but the generation that’s behind us it’s 100% technological and they sometimes forget about what truly matters… Anyway I hope for the future of all of us and the planet that we get to find a way to help each others

          • aly

            Where are you from?

          • smiler101

Guatemala and you?! I bet you don’t know where is guatemala ;) lol

          • aly

Ah, I thought you’d be from a country near mine since you mentioned South America and the typical corruption lol but I’m from Brazil and I’ve heard about Guatemala, I just don’t know exactly where it is in South America :)

          • smiler101

Actually it’s in central America but I guess we all in Latin America have the same problems with corruption and violence and so… I think we are kind of neighbors lol;) we all should stick together though!

    • JoeJonasTroops

men are in charge just because they’re stronger than us physically, they can take us down in a blow

      • laura

I can take plenty of men down if I wanted to, trust me.

        • thecat61

          You go girl!!!

        • JoeJonasTroops

some women are strong physically yeah i believe you, but not man like, i’m talking huge biceps, muscles and just scary/big looking to compete with

  • mountainmiracle

She’s not helping women she’s making the situation worse…

  • thecat61

Damn, Pilates does a body good.

  • Queen Amanda Bynes

Miley’s right , she’s the only Disney girl who broke away and doesn’t need them at all. She’s free to be who ever she wants to be. And she’s independent. Kudos to her.

    • GentileJewel

She is Not free of the money they made! So I doubt your little tidbit!

      • Queen Amanda Bynes

I didn’t mean she’s ungrateful to Disney. In the article she clearly says she appraites the fact that she was on Disney.

  • smb

So since statistic show that most women have been struck by a man at one time or another in their life, that women should start hitting other women too. NO, the solution isn’t to adapt male behavior and say it’s OK for women to do it, the solution is to stop accepting the bad behavior toward women. Using them for sexual purposes, treating them like hos as she call them. The solution is to stop male performers form getting away with the bad behavior and treatment of women. Don’t say it a social culture thing, cause it’s not. There are lots of men of all cultures, races, and ethnic background who treat women with respect. There nothing wrong with wearing a bikini but to do it because men like it is wrong. Grabbing someone else breast or chest is wrong, grabbing crotches is wrong, not just for men but for anyone. We should respect other people, even if they don’t respect themselves.

    • Marina And My Diamonds
    • smiler101

Who’s crotch is she grabbing?! I thought we were talking about her own crotch wich I think she has all the right to grab… Look I know that what she does is not the most acceptable or correct thing to do but it’s in a way a form of freedom of speech and also it shows that women can and should wear, say and do whatever they want even if people classifies them as hoes for it…

    • Godney

      YESSSSSS!!!

    • JoeJonasTroops

EXACTLY! miley wants tobe fair, the bad behaviours that men do, we have to do, but it dosn’t work that way in order to be fair

  • Emmy

My defense of Miley about helping women is that she is not appealing to men. I think more people need to realize that. Her fans are mostly young women around her age (myself included) 20s/30s late teens, and gay men. She has a sense of humor about it all. I don’t think her point is to appear “sexy” for the man. Miley definitely has a camp quality to her productions and I love camp. It’s hilarious. People have just got to stop taking it so seriously. If you want to talk about intentional sexy for men’s eyes you should think more about Britney in her prime.
She is more levelheaded than people give her credit for. Let her have her fun. You think she’s crazy? I’ve seen hard partying at my college, she’s going to be just fine.

    • anon

I agree with you. Ariana image is more appealing towards men than Mileys. It looks like she is just having fun and being confortable with her body

  • Godney

” I have guys and girls that come out, and they’re like, ‘The only reason I’m able to admit that I’m gay is because you’ve made me feel like that’s okay.’ That is so intense, because that is a part of this generation, it wasn’t always accepted, and I feel like I am a big part of that change. ”

Ugh, i find this so annoying lol

    • adam

Why though? I met her for her Bangerz album release CD signing and waited hours to meet her. I told her the exact same thing she said in the interview, that she helped me come out the closet and I thanked her for her support of the gay community. She was the sweetest person and told me she was proud of me coming out, She has a significant gay following and she knows it. Taylor or Selena rarely speak of gay rights, miley did while still on Disney.

      • HolyGround

Taylor and Selena speak out on a lot of other issues too though. I could say how Miley rarely speaks of childhood cancer, while Taylor always does. That’s such a sweet Miley said to you though aww

        • alex

what that has to do with miley supporting people who are gay and are scare of coming out? selena only goes were fame goes she don’t care about anyone but making herself more famous, as we have seen how she uses her friend and boyfriend to gain fame, taylor seem nice but hanging with a two face selena makes me think she is one too.

          • HolyGround

I meant like that’s only one issue they don’t speak much about. They speak up about other important issues too. Lol you sound so dumb with the way you hate on selena just stop and look over what you say

      • Godney

why bring selena or taylor tho?
to me that was annoying… done.
And what has miley done for gay rights? even gaga tried to do shit.

        • ha

What has she done for gay rights? Just the fact that she talks about it and supports gay it means a lot to people. She doesn’t need to exactly DO anything. Artists will inspire people when they tell them their views when, they encourage people. Miley is one of them for gays.

          • Godney

Gaga has done things tho… and NO, if she wants to fill her mouth saying “i support gay people” then SUPPORT GAY PEOPLE by actually SUPPORTING THEM.
Saying stuff isnt enought… talk is cheap.

  • Zaina777

Men are just going to see woman as sex objects the exact same way as before though. Miley, in her mind may have good intentions but she is going about it completely wrong in my opinion.

  • Scarlets

I am sure liam is not missing you

    • Queen Amanda Bynes

      Omg

    • thecat61

      Who?

    • dede

am sure he is missing her, she gave him everything when he had nothing, he just an ungreatful asshole. were is he now? nobody cares about him ever since miley drop him and he has no movies coming except for hunger games who happen to appears what like two minutes, so he she surely help him to get jobs.

  • Taelor.

I’m the farthest thing from a feminist, but I do wish she’d actually try and show some class for once by teaching the girls that look up to her that they can be more than a piece of meat for men to stare at.

  • ikeepempressedt

All this tells me is that she devoted her entire self to someone else and had absolutely nothing left for herself. She broken. And it clearly shows. That just goes to show you never become dependent on someone.

  • TrueSmiler

    Just another stupid useless interview.
    Dies boring pathetic slut.

  • TrueSmiler

For what hell she was interviewed by a “journalist” girl 17 yrs old?

Probably to do this, a absolute useless paid interview, without any relevant question, just the old blah blah blah.

    Sad.

    Waiting the full interview.

    Anyway, dies boring slut.

  • JoeJonasTroops

why does she regret being in disney? didn’t she get all her fame from disney?

    • thecat61

She said she’s thankful for Disney.

      • JoeJonasTroops

i never would have liked her if this is how she started, i loved hannah montana and i grew up with her, if miley hated disney than i wouldn’t of even been interested in her from the begining, good thing she’s thankful

  • JoeJonasTroops

i understand that she’s helping people with eaquality, but not in the right way, just because men rape, she wants women to be eaqual to them, which means that if some men are chriminals, so should women be, if men are bastards, women should be bitches. gay people aren’t accepted for a reason, she should change the world to the better, not by welcoming more gay people and crotch grabbing to the world

    • KD

You had me until you said “not by welcoming more gay people” The one and only thing I like about her is how she helps the gay comunity. I’m all about equality and gay rights. Sorry your homophobic self can’t deal but watch out more gays are gonna be a comin!!

      • JoeJonasTroops

the more stars like miley we get, the more gay people come out. it’s gonna go on until more than 50% of the population is gay, how is the world gonna go around? where are we gonna get babies from?

  • JoeJonasTroops

miley is anything but appealing to men, she acts like men when she grabs bitch’s asses and twerking was supposed to be a man thing, i love miley so much but whenever i ask a boy about her they almost cring

    • thecat61

      Lmao

  • gaby

Miley was one of the first teen celebs to embrace homosexuality and if that’s not ballsy, idk what is. You still have Selena and Taylor Swift never saying a word about it, but Miley did it years ago, before it was “cool” to be liberal and shit. I applaud her. She’s wonderful.

    • S

Actually Taylor Swift has spoken about it many times earliest being 6 years ago.

  • http://oceanup.com OCEANUP

    such a sexy photo shoot

  • Sami
