Ariana Grande’s ‘Problem’ is on track to score one of the biggest sales debuts ever for a digital song, reports Billboard. Industry forecasters suggest the tune may have sold more than 425,000 downloads in the week ending May 4.
That would immediately place it among the top 10 biggest sales debuts ever, and perhaps the fourth-largest bow for a woman. The largest ever debut for a song, according to SoundScan, was when Flo Rida’s ‘Right Round’ bowed with 636,000 downloads in the week ending Feb. 15, 2009.
‘Problem’ could also earn the 20-year old Grande the fourth-largest start for a woman, behind the launches of Taylor Swift’s ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ (623,000), Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ (557,000) and Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ (448,000).
