Never challenge OU! They are all knowing! Other worldly! We mere humans cannot begin to comprehend their logic. Call it absurd. Go ahead mere mortal. Regardless, their GREATNESS shall persevere! Continue to educate OU. Show us the error of our ways. The problem with sanity! Long live …. ;) :p

I have a like/dislike relationship with her. eeeek

  • laura

I have the same sweater but in dark blue and I only wear it to study because eww I look like a stuck up rich bitch when I wear it haha

    • Tash

Um, I’d never wear that sweater. In South Africa, school uniforms are compulsory. And that sweater is the exact same as the uniform/sweaters many schools, especially boys schools use during winter. It’s like wearing school clothes on the weekend. I promise, if someone here saw that on someone, they’d assume that person was using their school clothes & look at them like they are a weirdo or assume they are poor & don’t have much else to wear(which is often the case).

      • laura

Oh uniforms aren’t really a thing here in Belgium, except for a few catholic schools where it is mandatory haha
But wow that’s some expensive looking uniform then :o here uniforms consist of a dark blue skirt, light blue shirt and a blue jumper of cardigan. Nothing fancy.
I just hate how preppy that sweater is, definitely because people already think I shit money or something and that one just makes me look like I own a yacht, go on fancy trips to New York and live in a castle. But because I am short, I can wear it like a dress to chill in :)

        • Tash

Yeah, it looks better when it’s oversized & long. But the ones we have are cheap. It just looks the same. All schools here wear uniforms. Blue, Red & White are very common school colors. But we have a whole range. Every school has their own colors. Especially private school. My school uniform used to be chocolate brown aka nasty! Our rival school had Dark Green blazers & Yellow dresses. Put us together & we’d make a tree! =D

          • laura

What? Omg those are such awful colour for a uniform :o I’d seriously refuse to wear that haha
I still don’t get the point of uniforms tbh I know the argument is that they don’t want people to feel bad about wearing less expensive clothes and whatnot but the rich kids here get their uniforms at Ralph Lauren, River Woods, Scapa and Maison Scotch and whatnot while the kids that aren’t rich get it at H&M or Primark. You still see the difference, you know?

          • Tash

Well it’s a bit different here. Private schools make & sell their own & you are only allowed to purchase it from them. It often has a specified design & school emblem on. Public schools also sell their own. But the poorer ones don’t & don’t worry with you having the emblem. So we don’t have the issue you guys do. If you’re purchasing your uniform from anywhere else beside your school, then you probably go to a average to poor school. 99% of kids there won’t be able to afford designer anything. We also don’t have those name brands selling school clothes! That’s beyond ridiculous here! The only school which is relaxed about uniforms is the most expensive private school in the country. They just have a color system & tell you what items of clothes you can wear. Otherwise, you can get it from wherever you want. Those kids are so rich anyway, it’s fine. No one is gonna feel bad. But the rest of the schools are very conscious of the economic situation & how much of a distraction it is when people focus on dressing up & how they look. For our country it’s best. Some kids are very poor & use school clothes on the weekend & have to get school clothes & lunch donated to them. We even have kids being taught without classrooms. Just sit outside & listen. So I agree with the rules of wearing a uniform, no make up & tying up your hair if it’s longer than chin length. We even get checked for cutting our nails! HaHa. But they’re weeding out the bullshit. So I get it.

It’s actually a really good idea then. I love how they do so many good things for the ones who don’t have a lot of money. A lot of countries could learn a thing or two from that.
And it aren’t stores where they sell uniforms, it are just these really fancy stores with preppy clothes. You know, all in the style of Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. Those brands just love the colours dark blue, red, light blue, beige and white haha I got to admit, even I own their clothes but only the non preppy ones :p

          • Tash

I think there’s a big sense of community here. Were so far away from any sort of Hollywood scene. Most people are just trying to get by. Remember, we’re still a developing country & democracy is still very young. Um, we don’t really have those stores. We may have some & similar brands in a few rich areas maybe. But it’s often small with a limited range. Maybe if you go to another more posh town, then you’ll get a bigger range. Where I live, there are the rich, but most of us are just the hard working average joes :)

These companies are always out looking for money my god. Fair enough if she slapped a skull and cross bone on her shirts and used a logo that was similar but holy crap the shirts said lucky 13 with four leaf clovers or whatever who cares build your bridges stop being attention whores.

I laughed so hard at the way they described her. “A tatted up singer who likes fast cars and dangerous men who drive them inappropriately”. Seems legit.
