Liam Payne Defends Smoking Video Louis Tomlinson And Zayn Malik: ‘Hopefully We Stand The Test Of Time’

liam-payne-pickup-lineliam-zayn-2liam-zaynlouis-supportLiam Payne Tweeted in defense of One Direction and leaked Zouis smoking pot video..: ‘..Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us through this just know that we love you guys for it and it means the world. Hopefully we stand the test of time an get it right in the end I don’t take this for granted and im extremely grateful to be here doing this.

We all have a lot of growing up to do in an extreme circumstance I’m not making excuse but it’s fact we are gunna fall short somewhere. I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologise for that.We are only in our 20’s we all do stupid things at this age.

Anyway thank you for your lovely words mrs moir sorry we let you down so fantastically maybe next time a little research is in order.’ He also correctly a Daily Mail article: ‘like so many writers before, consistently get things wrong looking down there noses thinking they are oh so right. Think you’ll find I’ve written a lot of the next album and songs on the last I play piano Niall.’

If the worst of the boys can come up with a smoking pot video they are going to be all right. How many people do YOU know that smoke pot? Justin Bieber continually breaks the law, does illicit drugs and endangers other people, not just his friends. One Direction weren’t driving, they were just doing what most people there age are doing! Actions speak louder than words, people say stupid sh*t when they are high!

NOTE: Lawyer think the pot video was take on Google glasses and stolen!

According to The Mirror, lawyers for the band have launched an urgent investigation into how the footage was leaked and believe that the glasses, which cost around £1000 and can store huge amounts of data, will be at the centre of the search.

Harry is annoyed about the whole debacle. This should be one of the biggest weeks of the band’s career with the launch of their UK stadium tour. Instead it has been taken over by this controversy. Harry thinks it was a stupid and reckless thing for Louis to allow to be filmed in the first place.’

Louis is increasingly concerned by the reaction of his fans and is constantly checking his phone: ‘He was up checking his phone to see the reaction. He understands the whole world is talking and he is trying to work out how to limit the damage.’

I know people are getting tired of the 1D & Bieber comparisons. But it comes with the territory. Every successful act gets compared to the previous ‘new hot property’. With that being said, I do respect honesty. I appreciate the way Liam handles all of this. Swiftly addressed, sincerity, no excuses or lies. I especially appreciate how he handled the ‘naked for 1D’ twitter trend. Shows he has decent moral fibre.

  • Marina And My Diamonds

I already made a comment about this exact response from Liam in another post. I will add that Liam has spoken up even though their management has tried to push Harry as the leader of the band. Liam is stepping up and pulling the reins. Which Bieber never does.

Also it shouldn’t be Liam, it should be Louis and Zayn. They made the mess they should at least help clean it up.

You should never apologize for something that is not wrong, illegal, or hurts others. Zayn and Louis have zero responsibility to apologize here. They are not responsible for your hurt feelings. They quite simply did nothing wrong no matter how you twist it. What they didn’t wasn’t even illegal as it is perfectly legal to possess marijuana in Peru. I hardly doubt they were selling it. Where is the problem? Morality? It’s hardly right to say that Louis and Zayn should mind how their younger fans should perceive them. It’s not their job to raise your kids. Cough Miley Cyrus cough.

There is a difference between damage control and an apology. Read carefully what Liam is saying. He’s not apologizing for them. He’s apologizing that it bent people out of shape. He’s placating dipshits who can’t untwist their panties about the fact that it’s perfectly normal for anyone in their 20s to smoke weed.

      • Elusive Chanteuse

Thank you! I completely agree with everything you said.

      • Marina And My Diamonds

My feelings aren’t hurt but I’m sure some of their fans feelings are from Louis saying the N word. (That’s what my comment was referring to, thanks for asking and not assuming. -____-)
Marijuana is not legal in Peru but they do allow some leeway.

        And I don’t have kids..
If they don’t want to mind how their younger fans perceive them then those younger fans and their parents have every right to not buy another thing pertaining to 1D. What you lost sight of is that Zayn and Louis are only 2/5 of the group. Their little stunt has cost 5/5 of the band some repercussions.

        • Marina And My Diamonds

Is this a thing now? You make a comment with logical thoughts and some random person perpetuates your comment by forcing what they feel your feelings to be.

No thank you, I don’t need anyone telling me what I was feeling when I wrote something. If I feel some type of way I’ll say it.

…which bieber never does. Ok. You don’t see zayn or Louis talking about their actions. It’s Liam. Maybe if justin had 4 other people with him one of them would have said something.

      • Marina And My Diamonds

Good point..well it would have been a good point if someone from Bieber’s team wasn’t always speaking up for him.
I digress I still think it’s funny how many times Scooter has been caught tweeting for Justin. Still makes me giggle.
But anywho back to the point, I get what you’re saying.

  • FuckHarry

Louis needs to grow a pair and apologize for his comments. Everyone knew zayn and Louis smoked weed already and could care less about that. But I still appreciate that Liam is trying to apologize on the behalf on his band mates.

Er…saying everybody makes mistakes at this age is NOT an excuse. I don’t need to launch a nuclear missile on a city to know that it’s a bad idea. Woop-sie, I just killed a million people. Well, that’s OK since everyone makes mistakes…

    • Mariah

How can you use launching a nuclear missile on a city as an argument ? They just smoked weed..

      • iWizard

I wasn’t comparing them in severity. I’m saying that you shouldn’t explain your mistakes away, rather you should own up to them.

Everybody does it shouldn’t be the reason you’re going to do something.

Most people drink alcohol, but I’m smart enough to know that it’s bad for you. Going with the crowd isn’t always the right answer.

        • aly

Honestly it all depends on your point of view. To me drinking alcohol isn’t a mistake, for example. People in my family drink alcohol, I drink when I go out and as long as I don’t get in coma or become an alcoholic I don’t consider it a mistake. Some people don’t consider smoking pot (specially in places where it’s legal) to be a mistake either. There’s a huge difference between launching a nuclear missile and killing and hurting billions of people and smoking or drinking and only hurting YOURSELF, not others.

  • Angie.

Bieber smokes weed as well. Why are they so sure he’s doing more then that ? So they’re lying about his drug use to excuse theirs ? And the whole Bieber breaking the law all the time making it seem like he just walks around and does it is delusional. We get it the guy got a DUI which he still isn’t pronounced either guilty or innocent. The egg thing is a joke itself. They’re making him worse then he is to excuse their boys. Typical. They’re not even getting so much shit for this like Bieber did when he smoked weed. And he didn’t insult anyone while doing it but the world went nuts. Bieber seems like he is coming back on track but if people keep bringing up his behaviour from last year and acting like he is in 24 7 doing the same when will he ever recover if no one is rooting for him except they’re trying to bring him down more? They didn’t have to bring him into this. Weed is a joke in general who cares if they all smoke it. Bieber was never proved to do more then just weed and even his blood test showed just weed. People need to leave it alone. With that being said good for Liam for speaking up but the ones who did shut should do it not him.

  • Nina

Except for the drunk driving Justin doesn’t endanger other people’s lives specially his friends. He made a mistake and will pay for the consequences. Don’t make it seem like he was arrested ten times and just fights with people all the time and has more cases then Chris Brown. Bringing others people’s mistakes to justify your own is pathetic. They’re going to get away with everything they do. You’ll see. And just because Justin doesn’t speak publicly about it and rants all the time doesn’t mean he isn’t sorry. He is allowed to deal with all of it in private its way better like that to me personally. Liam might speak up a lot on his twitterbut to me it doesn’t make him the best person ever.

  • Elusive Chanteuse

I just think everyone should be treated the same way. If Miley and Justin will get a lot of bad PR for smoking so should the boys. If the boys don’t and get away with it so should Justin and Miley. I dislike the double standards in general! Liam doesn’t have to say anything about this since he did nothing wrong. Why is he always also responding to the media? He’s giving them what they want and they will keep provoking him more and more.

    • T

Their fans will always find a way to defend them no matter what they do tbh. The amount of money their team pays people off to keep their mouth shut. That’s why there is nothing ‘ harmful’ to their imagine out.. Yet. But people will start talking out just wait and see. Sh*t is going to get worse for them from here.
If Louis is going to keeps up with the “westside” “east side” and N word talk. He will get his ass kicked very soon.

  • Zaina777

Honestly, I don’t get why he even apologized. If anyone should apologize it should be the two grown men in the video smoking a joint not Liam or anyone else. I don’t think there should even be an apology in the first place, maybe an acknowledgement but not an apology. People should think for themselves and not do stupid shit over people that they don’t even know. Some fans overreact over the stupidest things. Once someone is famous they walk on gold floor and everyone who’s not famous licks the floor right after…Live your own life for yourself.

  • BrokenArrow18

I like how he handled this. I think there were nothing to apologize for tho.

  • anonymous

No, we don’t all do stupid things in our 20s. Some if they take risks, they analyze the decision or if it’s a yes/no decision, they make the right one because of experience. I actually know plenty of people that have never made a stupid decision. Some have declared making “the wrong choice” but that is only because they hold themselves up to high standards and chose a great decision instead of an excellent one. People need to stop talking about themselves in the “we” or “you guys” tense. While they are not the only ones, it’s most certainly not all people in their 20’s that make stupid decisions.

Back to not giving a fk about One D.

  • BangBang

People are waiting for Louis to speak up not Liam.
