gomez wishes she could sound like this! but debby’s voice still isn’t great :/ kindof a waste of money &time making an EP. much more talented people out there in this world

They will flop, too much competition right now in the industry. She should stick to acting.

I don’t think many people will care. Not to be cruel, but she’s kinda old news and not all that interesting.

My life has come to the point where I hear a song from a Disney star, I can tell who is singing the song. It does not sound like Selena Gomez. Either way, I kinda like it. Some small groups make it to the altar, so we shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions right away.

Here’s the thing: It’s not terrible. But it’s not great. I really like it compared to say, Bella Thorne’s single. But it’s just alright. Her voice is not bad, but it’s nothing to write home about. I do applaud her for going the indie route and not being a solo act- so she gets points for being original in the vein of “Disney-star-who-gets-an-obligatory-record-deal.” It is too much competition in music now for her to take off and she can (and possibly will) easily flop and this band will be in the ashes of other Disney related bands and records that was a hit and a miss. BUT… because this is indie and has more potential than other generic pop messes, it could see cult success in the alternative band genre. If they played festivals and thrived on social media, they could have moderate fame on the levels of say… Tonight Alive or VersaEmerge. Maybe even Haim. But it all depends on their label. If the label doesn’t promote them, they don’t go anywhere. Even when they’re really good. Disney NEVER promoted Emily Osment and Bridgit Mendler, and in my opinion, their albums were better than Miley’s and Selena’s. Even Demi Lovato didn’t have material like they did, where she had the voice, she didn’t have the songs that made me adore her album like theirs. And they kind of fell off the grid because they weren’t Disney’s top stars and it’s a shame. I don’t know if the label she’s on now is even Disney, but I hope they give them a chance. It’s not the best, but it has potential. A good band isn’t really dependent on a good voice. As long as it’s pleasing to the ears and the lyrics are sincere, it can get away with a mediocre vocalist, and usually, in time, the amateur singer’s voice gets a little stronger and the band gets better. And this seems like a genuine attempt at a decent debut. There are worse things that are charting that I’d rather hear this *cough Turn Down For What cough* and other than Paramore, there aren’t many female fronted bands. It’s a long shot and a ways to go, but I wish her and the band well. (And hope she stops emphasizing her lips so much. We get it. Sexy. Much sultry. Stop now.)

With her going the Indie route.. I would imagine she is not too concerned with mainstream radio play.

  • BangBang

She sounds a little bit like Selena Gomez.
