Back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, Noel Gallagher and his band Oasis were on top of the world. The group received countless awards during their run, including three Grammy nominations for popular hits “Wonderwall” and “All Around The World.” In an interview with Esquire Magazine, Noel expresses his disdain for the current state of the music industry.
He starts off his tirade by ripping the music industry as a whole, saying “Who gives a shit what fucking One Direction do? Cocksuckers, all of them in rehab by the time they’re 30,” and goes on to say that “nobody cares” about Ellie Goulding and Adele.
Noel continues by attacking Harry Styles, who he says has “nothing to say for himself.”
Afterward, he turns his attention to a former member of One Direction by saying, “God help fucking Zayn Malik.” Previously, Noel has called Zayn an “idiot” for leaving the band on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
Despite Noel’s bitter attitude toward current artists, he actually likes one controversial name. Of rapper Kanye West, he says, “You watch him on the MTV Awards and you think, ‘You can fucking stay, you’re alright.’”
In the full interview, Noel goes on to talk about many more topics, including: retirement, the success of Oasis, his disdain for Radiohead and raising his children.
