To keep up with the trend, Fox is adding another musical to the list of films being turned into television specials. This time it’s cult-classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” According the E!, Adam Lambert is the newest performer to be added the cast. Adam will play Eddie, and will join stars like Victoria Justice (Janet), Laverne Cox (Dr. Frank-N-Futer), Ryan Mccarran (Brad), Reeve Carney (Riff-Raff) and Staz Nair (Rocky).
The two-hour event is being described as a full reimagining of the iconic 1975 film as a tribute to its 40th anniversary. If you’ve never seen the film before, it’s about a young couple that becomes stranded. They seek shelter at the house of a self-named “sweet transvestite” scientist from Transsexual, Transylvania. The scientist, Dr. Frank-N-Futer, has invited his peers to witness the birth of his latest creation: a super sexy man.
The event is set to air sometime this fall. The actual anniversary of the original film is August 14th.
