When will this satanic era END? Got damn.. bitch bouta release all her songs as singles before she tries to drop a new album.

    • Seriously

If her album is good enough to have 20 singles, she should do it!

      • laura

        Well, it isn’t.

        • LOL

          Awards and sales say otherwise..

          • j

They say old white people and young white people have no taste

          • Lo la

I love her and her music and i’m not white so your statement is incorrect

          • Aleeeeee

Same here! But white people don’t all have the same taste in music and neither do old people. How racist of you.

          • Lo la

No. Stop it right there, you can’t be racist towards white people. Let’s not start with that.

          • Ronnie

Are you serious? You can be racist against people of ANY color.

          • Lo la
          • Lisa

No you can’t. Experiencing racism means being systematically oppressed. White people have never and will never be systematically oppressed because they are the most privileged racial group on the planet. If you claim that you can be racist towards white people, you simply don’t know the actual meaning of “racism”.

          • Sakura

You can be prejudice against any race or color but white people won’t feel true racism except in isolated cases. Racism is systematic and not just getting your feelings hurt.

          • laura

lol American awards have like no value anymore these days.. Jennifer Lawrence gets Oscars, Megan Trainor got a Grammy, Kendrick didn’t win album of the year and amazing artists don’t even get nominated. Don’t things like that make them completely worthless?
Since when are sales relevant to the quality of an album? Are you going to give me some valid arguments or are we done?

          • Sakura

They keep charting pretty high in the US so it kind of is. Out Of The Woods was a bad call but even that was a top 20. Like it or not its a commercial success and its her album so she can squeeze as much life out of it as she wants. A pop album doesn’t need to be the pinnacle of great songwriting it just needs to be catchy and 1989 is.

          • laura

The first commented I responded to said it was good enough to do so and I said it wasn’t. Someone else commented and said that because of its sales and awards it’s a good album and I just said that was irrelevant. Is it that hard for you people to read what I’m writing like..? It is a commercial succes but the album just isn’t good enough to squeeze so many singles out.
If Taylor just released this song instead of ootw, I’d be fine with it tbh. Now it’s just overkill..

          • Sakura

Is it that hard to acknowledge someone just disagrees that your go to excuse is “learn to read”? Who decides what’s good, you? Its just a single. If it still sells and fans are still happy than who are you to decide what’s good enough and what’s overkill? Pop albums get lots of singles. That’s the nature of it especially when all hit the top 20. Obviously she did something right they wouldn’t still be selling.

          • laura

I’m done with this discussion since you’re still not bothered with reading what I wrote.. You can’t really talk with someone who decides to only read what they want.

          • thecat61

            Preach it

    • thecat61

      $$$$$ hungry!

    • Sakura

Just slightly overdramatic don’t ya think?? It ends when she either wants it to or she runs out of songs.

  • thecat61

What a dumb ass! You have Kesha who’s going through a rough time right now and this bitch is gonna drop a new single from an album that’s been out for how long now? Well, I guess that doesn’t surprise me one bit…she just thinks about herself ($$$$) and how many more awards she thinks she’s gonna win.

    • WTF

Kesha has absolutely nothing to do with Taylor! Like really? If Miley dropped a new single, you’d rejoice. Idiot.

      • thecat61

First off, Miley wouldn’t drop a 7th single from an album that’s been out for how long now? Secondly, Miley’s not money hungry like this bitch is. Jackass!

        • Lo la

Can’t drop a single to an album that does not exist now can she? lmaO

          • thecat61

Listen numbnuts…apparently you didn’t read the comment above mine…not surprised.

          • Lo la

you didn’t either. miley doesn’t even have enough albums out to drop 7 singles oops your fav is a flop and will always stay a flop

          • thecat61

Nice try dumbass. She has more than enough albums. You’re so bitter because you got burned. Hahahahahahaha

          • Lo la

Oh yeah you roasted the shit out of me with your fifth grade humor. Help.

          • janis67

Why is it that you can’t produce a single comment with maturity “thecat61?” Do you always have to have a foul mouth and whine and moan about every little thing?

          • thecat61

Have you not read other comments?

          • thecat61

            Burn baby burn

        • damn girl

But you are posting about Miley constantly. You need to get a life. This is Taylor’s moment!

          • thecat61

What moment is that…dropping a 7th single from an album that’s over a year old….and I didn’t bring Miley up others did. Did you not see my first comment.

        • Godney

miley could drop a single from her free album tho… like she did with BB talk.

          • thecat61

I would love ‘Karen Don’t Be Sad’ I read that Kesha helped write that song. I don’t know how true that is.

          • Godney

i read that miley reached out to kesha personally and droped any conection she had with dr. Luke

*On another note… i need miley to come back to pop music and release a damn album :)

          • thecat61

She cut ALL ties with Dr. Luke after she heard what had happened to Kesha.

She’s working on her new album. People are saying 2016-2017.

          • Godney

is she working with that hippie guy?

          • thecat61

I think for a couple songs. They really haven’t been hanging out since their dead petz tour and because her and Liam are back together..but I heard that they may start the dead petz tour up again. I think she’s still working with Mike Will. I know Mike worked with her on her dead petz album. I don’t see anything till 2017.

          • Godney

            gosh i hope she doesnt.
I’m up for Mike Will but he better not try that hip-hop shit on miley.

          • thecat61

I think she’s done with the hip hop shit. She played a little snippet during one of her shows and it sounded like a little country ballad.

          • Godney

her voice works really well with country music but damn all my loves pop stars are going for not pop and i need me some pop smash lol
            (yes, selfish me)

Does miley has like unreleased songs leaked during the Cant Be Tamed era?

          • thecat61

There were a couple songs that leaked but hell if I can remember what they were. She has numerous songs that weren’t on CBT and Bangerz. I do know that Dr. Luke didn’t want to release WB as a single but Miley fought with him…her name was also on credits for writing that song but Dr. Luke took the credit.

          • Godney

i read they were going to re release bangerz but miley didnt wanted because luke wanted to take charge

          • thecat61

I just read something about that. Apparently he’s a control freak amongst other things. I’m just wondering if he tried to do something to Miley or others for that matter…and if so are they afraid to speak up? Its just a wierd situation.

          • Godney

i dont think so, because miley was never really under Dr. Luke.
One of the reasons i think luke went after kesha is because pretty much he made her, it was easy.

    • Lo la

Did Miley speak up ? lol

      • thecat61

Though she couldn’t speak out directly to Kesha as she is signed to a Sony label…she reached out through her charity: The fight to be free isn’t over. We have to rally together and fight injustice.

        So yeah she did, bitch!

        • Lo la

          You’re such a dumb cunt.

          • thecat61

            Hahahaha! Fuck you bitch!

          • Lo la

Ya i will. You on the other hand, you’re so gross you probs don’t even like touching yourself.

          • thecat61

Hahahahahahaha! Oh good comeback (not) hahahahahahaha!

          • WOW

Aw, are you 12? NOT after your comments? Grow up..that died out over 10 years ago!

          • thecat61

            Whatever you say! Hahahahahahaha!

          • jesusss

            Why you so offended though?

          • thecat61

            Better yet…why are others offended?

        • Nina

Maybe Taylor reach outed in private not all celebrities have to publicly show her support. Don’t be making assumptions without knowing the facts honey. If Miley could of really wanted to she could of posted something herself via her many public social media accounts since Miley can apparently do whatever she wants or is she really not in control like she wants you to believe?

          • thecat61

Miley is signed with RCA/Sony…so I’m thinking she’s limited at what she can do. This whole thing is such a mess it doesn’t make sense.

          • Nina

She just posted something on her Twitter I believe but after all that nonsense with Demi I’m just kinda over it. I support ke$has battle because she deserves to be freed from that horrible label and man.

          • thecat61

Damn straight she deserves to be free!

  • JoeJonasTroops

    Lmao.

  • cnstnzc

so she’s not going to talk about kesha. ok.

    • Faith

She’s part of Sony so probably not.

      • Lisa

She’s not part of Sony. She just publishes her music through Sony ATV which is a totally different entity from the actual label. She might have reached out to Kesha privately. And btw Beyonce, Adele, Miley, Katy, etc, etc haven’t commented on it either yet I don’t see anyone bitching about them…

        • thecat61

I’m sorry but did you say Miley didn’t comment…really!?! Nice try.

          • Lisa

Yeah I just went to her twitter and didn’t see anything about it.

          • thecat61

Because she posted through HHF. Low key

          • Lisa

So she didn’t comment on it personally, she hid behind her foundation. Only you stans actually follow her foundation’s IG, twitter or whatever. So I stand by it. Miley didn’t comment on it. You’re just lucky she’s not relevant enough to have people bitch about her not having commented on it.

          • thecat61

She couldn’t put it on her twitter dumbass don’t you get it. Miley made the attempt to reach out to Kesha whereas this bitch is releasing another single. I though taysue was all about feminism!?!

          • Lisa

Wtf does Taylor releasing a new single have anything to do with Kesha’s trial???? It’s not like she decided to release a new single from one day to the other. It has been planned for months. Should she just put her whole career on hold and not work at all just because of an issue she has ZERO control over?? Just like you claim that Miley couldn’t put it on her twitter, maybe Taylor can’t either.

And feminism isn’t a competition. Miley has never spoken out about sex trafficking, women forced into child marriages, etc, so does that make her any less of a feminist?? It’s humanly impossible to speak out about every single sexist issue on the planet. Why can’t you just be glad more people are claiming to be feminists and speaking out about equal rights instead of shitting on someone for not posting a totally insignificant tweet? Grow up.

          • thecat61

“There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” hmmm, I wonder who said that!

        • Faith

How much of a say does RCA have in her? I know Big Machine is her main label but having RCA there too might present a problem since that’s the same label Kesha’s on.

          • Faith

Nevermind. I looked on Wikipedia at her labels and RCA was listed. I didn’t know that was just for a little while and jumped ship. It didn’t say she never got past the development stage. I assumed it meant she’s still affiliated with them. Note to self read past the first sentence I’ll sound less stupid.

          • Lisa

Yeah they wanted to keep her on the development deal when she was like 13 and she felt like they wouldn’t let her write her own songs so she walked away and then signed with Big Machine. She’s definitely not affiliated with RCA anymore.

          • Sakura

Lol. At least you admit that.

    • Godney

why does she HAS to tho?

      • Sakura

Because it gives people a chance to prove she’s the devil come to bring about the apocalypse. It doesn’t need to make sense as long as they can spin it to her and pretend they’re self righteous.

        • Godney

yea, i dont even like the girl but everybody calling “her out” for this are out of line.

      • cnstnzc

        bc she’s a “feminist” maybe?

        • Godney

so? taylor saying she is a feminist mean she has to speak about every single issue? even if she doesnt know about the topic?
Why dont you call out Beyonce? Adele? males feminist? people who have worked with kesha like pitubull and others?

          • cnstnzc

If a person says she/he is a feminist but then ignore problems like this, their feminism doesn’t mean anything. If she’s a feminist she should address topics and problems like this one instead of just talking about the nice part. I’ve never heard her talking about WOC and how police brutality affects them, queer people, etc. She just talks about the problems that affect white CIS women. And it’s not necessary to know a lot about Kesha’s situation to understand that she is the victim, but if it’s about other topic she can just educate herself instead of just ignore it. I don’t call out Beyoncé, Adele, males feminists, etc because this article it’s about Taylor but that doesn’t mean I am only criticizing her and ignoring the fact that a lot of celebrities have kept quiet about this. In fact I commented on other article about how other feminists haven’t talked about the issue.

          • Lisa

That’s BS though. Being a feminist means wanting women and men to have equal rights. That’s all. It doesn’t entail educating and informing millions of people on topics you can’t even relate to. And she doesn’t just talk about nice things. She talks about how women get treated unfairly in the music industry all the time. And that does also affect POC women.

And btw she has commented on black lives matter and Ferguson so she clearly is educated on topics that don’t just affect cis women. At the end of the day, she’s just an artist who happens to identify as a feminist just like everyone should. It’s messed up to expect her to have the time to educate herself enough to be able to comment publicly on every single social issue, especially considering how quickly everyone would be to criticize her.

          • cnstnzc

My point is that she, having all the influence she has, should use her position to bring attention to a subject so important like this one. I’m not saying she should educate people.
When did she comment on BLM and Ferguson? I had no idea about that.

          • Lisa

She tweeted about it back when the protests were going on.

          • cnstnzc

Did she comment about people in general? Because I’m talking about how police brutality affect women, not people in general.

          • Godney

but we are back on the topic… if taylor doesnt know about this situation full… should she speak out?
yes, i agree her “feminist” is very one side but i dont think THIS is the case at all.
And if she donated it means she maybe care on a personal level and wants to help kesha out personally

          • cnstnzc

I don’t understand how she should know everything about the situation to support Kesha though. I’m not saying she should act like the judge of the case or something; just support her (which she already did by donating and that’s great).
This case applies because some celebrities (like her) don’t talk about rape or others problems like that because they’re too problematic or dirty. She just talks about the wage gap and “nice” things.

          • Godney

but she did support kesha, she just did it finantialy and it still a lot since a lawsuit takes a lot of money.
And yea, so what if her and others dont talk about it? they are not politician… they are POP STARS, they are not here to be correct or to be role models or to raise kids or anything.
If they speak out, good, we should applaud them, but if they dont… so what?

          • cnstnzc

No one is saying she didn’t support her? I said the opposite. I just don’t think is okay to keep quiet about situations like this one. But whatever.

          • cnstnzc

I correct myself so you can understand my point better: I don’t think is okay to keep quiet about situations like this one, BUT the fact that she donated is great, and of course, a million times better than a tweet.

          • Godney

i dont think is ok either i jut dont see why calling her out if she dont… she doesnt HAS to

          • cnstnzc

but it doesn’t matter now because she donated lmao. I’m just bothered with her white feminism

  • Lo la

you’ve been complaining the whole year that everything is about taylor when ya’ll are the goddamn people that bring taylor up everytime something goes on.
We don’t know why Taylor hasn’t spoken publicly about this issue, when she was sexually harassed she didn’t comment or speak up about it,she might not feel comfortable speaking about this issue publicly being a victim herself so don’t fucking blame her and focus on Kesha by saying Taylor should speak up you’re forcing a victim to speak up, not everyone is comfortable so fuck off with your biased opinion about taylor. the girl breathes and ya’ll think she murdered

ps. im glad new romantics is getting the treatment it finally deserves, if the mv is a tour video im gonna be so upset

    • HaylieRenee21

I agree! Taylor could make an awesome video out of New Romantics.

    • Godney

Also… why is people only calling out taylor?
What about beyonce? what about adele?
This whole *Lets call out female pop stars for not speaking out about issues* is bullshit to me

      • Faith

She’s the only artist I’ve ever heard from that people get pissed at just for releasing a single. It doesn’t take much. If there’s an opportunity to attack her they will.

        • Godney

dont get me wrong, i’m not a fan of hers, like… at all.
But her releasing a single has NOTHING to do with kesha.

          • Faith

You don’t have to like a person or their music to know when they’re being treated unfairly. Taylor can be annoying but the hate she gets is ridiculous.

          • Godney

            true

        • DoSomethin

          Beyonce.. Formation.

  • Faith

I love New Romantics but I kinda wish it was Wonderland.

  • HaylieRenee21

New Romantics is one of my favorites on the album, so I am excited for this. Also, I am so confused. Why are so many of you feeling the need to bring up other artist’s in relation to Taylor? Yes, some of the things happening right now in the media are disgusting, but isn’t a major part of being a feminist to promote other women, not call them names. People only get defensive when they are offended. Can we please have one single post on OU that doesn’t end in arguments, emojis, and drama? To end this on a high note, congrats to Taylor on being able to have enough great songs on the album that she can have a 7th single. Not many artists can do that!

  • Godney

    get that kanye promo taytay

  • Sakura

There are more posts here than the actual Kesha article. I feel like people are more outraged about Taylor’s next single than Kesha losing her case. There are other people ignoring this like every male singer outside of whoever the heck Wale is. Taylor’s become a lighteningrod for spazzy people.
