The back and forth on Kesha’s Billboard Music Awards Performance for this Sunday’s BBMAs hasn’t stopped yet. First, Kesha was barred from the awards show by the label of Dr. Luke, the producer she’s been in a legal battle with. Then, she performed her scheduled Bob Dylan tribute earlier this week and her mother tried to start a BBMA boycott.
Now, Billboard is reporting that Kesha’s performance is back on. Kemosabe, Dr. Luke’s label, released a statement on Thursday saying, “Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored.”
The BBMAs take places in Las Vegas on May 22. The show will be broadcast live on ABC at 8pm EST.
