BET hosted its annual awards show on Sunday night. The ceremony, which took place at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, opened with a powerful performance by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. The duo performed their collaboration “Freedom” from Beyoncé’s album “Lemonade.”
The performance included the expected show-stopping costumes, dancing and pyrotechnics. Beyoncé and her back-up dancers made a real splash in an ankle-deep pool that created some amazing visuals with the lighting. Kendrick took the stage from below, arising in a puff of smoke during a dance break.
Curiously enough, Beyoncé showed off some of the choreography for which she is currently under fire. Some allege the dance moves that accompany the track on her “Formation World Tour” are stolen.
