The 59th Annual Grammy Award Nominations Are Full Of Snubs And Surprises

Grammys snubs and surprises-6The 2017 Grammy nominations have been announced and a number of artists are either celebrating their noms or sulking in self-pity. Announced by Meghan Trainor, who took home the “Best New Artist” award last year, Beyoncé, Adele and Rihanna are (unsurprisingly) the award show’s leading ladies.

Along with the expected came the unexpected. A surprising nomination was gift-wrapped just for Selenators, who will now have to call Demi Lovato a Grammy-nominated artist whenever they compare the singer to Selena Gomez. Demi is up for “Best Pop Vocal Album” along with Adele, Ariana Grande, Sia and Justin Bieber in her first Grammy nomination.

Grammys snubs and surprises-7After Nick Jonas’ album was snubbed for a MTV VMA nomination, the singer was once again forgotten about for the 59th Annual Grammys Awards. We guess all that hard work of him to pimp himself out to promote an album that was pretty forgettable didn’t pay off.

You can call it a snub or you can call it a reality check for fandoms, but fans of Zayn, Fifth Harmony, Shawn Mendes and Selena Gomez learned that Twitter hashtags don’t get their faves Grammy nominations.
