DNCE’s latest tour stop in Denver Wednesday night didn’t go off without a hitch. One fan got a bit rowdy while the band performed “Toothbrush” and caused a disturbance for the other concertgoers. He was seemingly escorted out of the venue, but not until after getting a verbal smackdown from Joe Jonas and a slightly more physical one from Cole Whittle.
Video from the incident shows the bandmates noticing something happening in the crowd that leads Joe to stop singing for a moment. “Somebody kick this fucker out,” the frontman announces as he gestures to the fan.
Cole appears visibly upset and eventually tosses his bass on the ground to take the situation into his own hands. He attempts to jump off stage to get closer to the man who, at this point, was climbing on fans in a crowd-surfing attempt. Cole went so far as to grabbing at the fan and shoving his head toward the team of security guards.
After the show, the band made sure to let everyone know that the odd incident didn’t ruin the night. Concert reviewers can say what they will about the quality of the shows, but they can’t say the band doesn’t care about their fans.
What do you think of the way DNCE handled the rowdy fan?
