Katy Perry is serving up a new music video for her song “Bon Appétit” and there’s more than just cherry pie coming out of the oven. Katy’s food-based promotion for the song is continuing in full force in the new visual.
Opening on a shot of Katy pre-packaged, the video follows her as she’s kneaded like dough, stewed with vegetables and eventually served up to a hungry crowd. But when Katy rings a bell, Migos comes to her rescue and the cannibalistic tables are turned.
The song, which originally just seemed like an excuse for Katy to stuff as much innuendo into four minutes as humanly possible, takes on a different meaning thanks to the visual. Much like the video for “Chained to the Rhythm,” Katy is showcasing her sanitized, bubblegum version of social commentary.
