Miley Cyrus sat down with Elvis Duran for the debut episode of “Label Defiers” released early Wednesday morning. The almost 30-minute interview featured the singer revealing her one fear when it comes to Noah Cyrus’ musical career as well as her past life as a tiny terror to her mother.
Now that Noah has decided music is her chosen career, older sister Miley has a few concerns about what Noah’s future could entail. “When you’re in this industry, adults treat kids like adults,” she told Elvis. Growing up in the limelight and being judged for normal teen behavior, Miley learned the hard way about dealing with public scrutiny:
“I think it makes you jaded, it makes you guarded, and I don’t ever want her to get like that. Or your style or the way that you think because you want to please people.”
Miley admits that her little sister left her in the dark when it came to her music; but being the protective older sister she is, Miley has some advice. “I always tell Noah, keep your Instagram comments turned off,” Miley said. “Never read anything that anyone says about you. Don’t Google yourself,” she added which may have come in handy after Noah’s MTV Movie Awards performance was slammed.
Noah wasn’t the only family member Miley spoke about. Even her mom Tish Cyrus was mentioned during the podcast. When Miley wasn’t promoting Tish’s career as a decorator, she was retelling stories of her younger days being a problem child.
“So I was like ‘kay, I’m going to break my mom’s rearview mirror to make her know that I’m really pissed,’ but I decided to do it with my forehead,” Miley said.
