Ariana Grande had her fans freaking out on social media early Tuesday morning. The singer shared a video of herself singing the Spice Girls’ song “Say You’ll Be There” via Instagram, calling it her “forever mood.” She also posted lyrics from the song to Twitter, where she eventually had to step in because some fans didn’t recognize the lines. Instead, they thought Ariana was teasing a fourth studio album.
Ariana was apparently just really feeling the throwback track as she showed off her own private bathroom performance of the song. But her lyrical tweets referencing the track weren’t such obvious tributes to the Spice Girls. Fans began to suspect they were a teaser for Ariana’s new album, which they referred to as “AG4″ to mark it as Ariana’s fourth.
The whole incident apparently made Ariana feel old as she tweeted to clear up the confusion. While she referred to her next album as “A4,” she made it clear the lyrics were not her own.
