Zac Efron’s upcoming role is, thankfully, out of his realm of expertise. The “High School Musical” alum is gearing up to show the world his big screen portrayal of Ted Bundy and he says the transformation required a rather whimsical work-life balance.
“I went and had my friends sage me. You know, like a little spiritual cleansing,” Zac tells Entertainment Tonight.
Despite leaving set with the heebie-jeebies, everyone can breathe a sigh of relief knowing Zac “didn’t go full method” and take the serial killer persona home with him.
“I didn’t have to do any weird stuff to anybody to get into character,” he explains.
Zac also seems pleasantly surprised to inform potential film viewers that what will be seen is “really deep” and “doesn’t really glorify” Ted.
“It simply tells a story and of how the world was able to be charmed over by this guy who was notoriously evil and the vexing position that so many people were put in, the world was put in,” Zac says. “It was fun to go and experiment in that realm of reality.”
