A source close to the Rihanna beating investigation told E! News that Rihanna alleged to police that Chris Brown choked her while threatening to kill her and, subsequently, she lost consciousness.
From the source: They began fighting after leaving Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party late Saturday. Shortly after midnight, things blew up. Brown pulled his silver Lamborghini to the side of a street in LA's Hancock Park neighborhood. That's when Rihanna grabbed the car keys and tossed them out the window, sending Brown into a rage.
He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, 'I'm going to kill you!'
Rihanna told police that she lost consciousness, and when she awoke, Brown had fled. Her right eye was blackened and badly swollen and she had hand prints on her arms.
The responding officers were so concerned about her, they drove Rihanna to the hospital in their squad car instead of waiting for an ambulance.
Officers took two sets of photographs, one at the scene and the second after she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.
Law enforcement revealed to TMZ that 'horrific' photos were taken of Rihanna's injuries: 'The photos show major contusions on both sides of the singer's face, there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody.
There are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers.
Rihanna claims Brown struck her with his fists and that's what did the damage. There
was no object used in the alleged attack.
Rihanna refused treatment at the scene, but before she left cops took photos. The photos are 'devastating proof of abuse.' Rihanna did not call 911. Someone in the area heard her screams and called.'
Rihanna beating update! Law enforcement told TMZ that Rihanna's injuries were severe, two 'huge contusions' which swelled up on both sides of her forehead and 'a bloody lip and nose.' Chris Brown has been booked on a
felony criminal threats charge.
If the DA files the case, domestic violence charges could be added. According to E! Online, Rihanna made the 911 call to police after Brown 'fled on foot' from the scene following the attack. Two officers from the LAPD Wilshire Division found Rihanna in Brown's rented silver Lamborghini 'beaten really badly and hysterical.'
Brown had taken the keys to the car with him and Rihanna was basically left on the side of the road with the car. 'Rihanna didn't want anyone to touch her, she was in so much pain.' Officers took her to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.
A member of Rihanna's inner circle tells E! News her family is making plans to get her out of LA: 'They want to get her back to Barbados. They want to keep her away from Chris right now.'
According to LA Times, Los Angeles police plan to detain Chris Brown for questioning in connection with an alleged domestic violence assault against his girlfriend Rihanna. Brown arrived at the Wilshire Division station about 7:15 PM, accompanied by another man.
They drove into a parking lot behind the station on Venice Boulevard, east of La Brea Avenue, in a black Escalade. Brown and the man entered through a back door where a posted sign stated 'authorized personnel only.' Police are expected to release a statement later this evening.
UPDATE: Rihanna's car spotted at Cedars Sinai Emergency-Room. Video under! LA police have confirmed Brown, 19, is being investigated for felony domestic battery. Sources tell E! News that the alleged victim was Rihanna,
20, and that she had visible bruises on her face.
The incident occurred around 12:30 AM Sunday in Hancock Park. Earlier in the evening Brown and Rihanna attended Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy bash together.
In a statement, police say Brown and his companion 'became involved in an argument.

By the time officers arrived on the scene, Brown had left.
