Source told STV: 'The main theme of the Olympic closing ceremony will be celebrating the best of British music, so it’s only right that One Direction are opening the show. They are the UK’s biggest music export at the moment behind Adele, who is also rumoured to be involved in some way.
It’s all top secret and the boys aren’t allowed to talk about it but they are thrilled. It isn’t every day you get the instant exposure of performing in from of a billion people. One Direction are unstoppable at the moment. They have achieved many career highlights at such an early age but this is right up there.'

UPDATE: According to Violet95 Niall was stalking Maddie and Dallas and his friend was taking pics of them and Dallas noticed them and then yelled out to Niall: "YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON MY SISTER!!!" Demi's cousin Braeden was talking about it on twitcam. Dallas and Maddie were on the phone too. Apparently Niall was super embarassed by Dallas.

Full scans HERE! One Direction's tourmate Camryn told Sugarscape: 'The boys were hilarious and running around all day pranking one another, and just being goofballs. They’re crazy in an awesome way. I played my set and afterwards Niall gave me a shout out during the show for being on the tour so far. It was amazing. I didn’t know he was going to do it and when he did, I totally had a fangirl moment.
The boys are awesome. They are very random, spontaneous and funny. Harry loves to start random dance parties any time he hears music. Every time he’d walk passed my dressing room I’d catch him dancing to the music we were playing. The fans are truly amazing, the 1D fans are the most dedicated girls I’ve ever seen! They sing, they dance, they create their own fan shirts. A few girls even made light up signs that they held during the show that said 1D!
It’s kind of a trademark of mine to sign foreheads when I’m out and about signing autographs. This huge group of girls not only let me sign their foreheads but their arms, iPhones and iPods too! The boys are like older brothers, they are so nice and sweet, and have taken care of me on the road. It’s great having support from people you work with, but it’s an even better feeling from people you look up to as artists.. When I first met the boys they were almost shy, which was completely not what I expected from them at all!'

There was a couple of weekends where Simon [Cowell] was poorly and I had to mentor them, so I take full responsibility for all their success, and over the pond, I think it's all me.'
