Despite a rough opening weekend for “We Are Your Friends”, Zac Efron appeared focused and full of energy in Atlanta on the set of “Neighbors 2″. The original film, “Neighbors,” was arguably Zac’s greatest career success not related to the “High School Musical” franchise, making over $250 million worldwide at the box office. Some industry analysts speculate that “Neighbors 2″ might be expected to make even more with the right marketing budget and broader distribution, based on the success of the first movie.
Zac’s latest film, “We Are Your Friends,” made history last weekend for being one of the worst performing wide release films ever by a major studio. Hopefully the “Neighbors” sequel – and other expected 2016 film releases “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” and “Dirty Grandpa” – can help Zac put the poor results of “We are Your Friends” quickly behind him.
