Selena Gomez covered her head when leaving her Spring Breakers premiere After Party last night. Does she have some secrets to hide?? Selena told MTV: 'It wasn't necessarily about the reaction as it was just for me wanting to do some thing that was creatively challenging for me, because acting is everything to me. And it's the reason why I'm here.'
Selena requested that the DJ at the Spring Breakers After Party NOT play any Justin Bieber music: Even when someone when up and specifically requested ‘Beauty and the Beat’, the DJ allegedly responded: 'No, I’m sorry I can’t play it. I was told specifically from her people that any Justin Bieber songs were off limits tonight.'

'Harmony is so amazing, though. He's so supportive, and he let me know it was going to be OK, and at the end of the day, if there's something I don't like, we can snip it out of there.
So there were like a few little portions that I was like, 'Can we please get rid of that?' But it was like a great compromise. I think that it turns out really beautiful and artistic. It was just kind of like, 'This is crazy! This is happening!'
Hallelujah for Ashley, and the fact that it was a pool kind of made it a lot of fun. I was like, 'Peace out for a second. I'm going to swim around.' But it was just great. Everybody was comforting. They wanted to let me know that it was going to be OK and that I'm safe.'

They told us right when we were on the carpet in Venice that they sometimes boo and clap here, this is just a thing. When you go to a premiere here or even in Toronto, you're not supposed to boo or anything. So they're just super honest there and I was freaking out because it was the first time I was gonna see the movie, we had to watch it with the audience. So when we watched it, I remember I was with Ashley and James, that's who I was sitting next to,
He just kinda grabbed my arm a little bit and Ashley grabbed my arm, and we all kinda just got a little nervous. And when the movie ended we got a standing ovation for five minutes and I was crying. We pushed Harmony and he went to the front and everybody clapped for him. It was a real special moment, I think it was probably top three of my life to be honest.
Was Mandy weary about your involvement given the subject matter? The thing is that my mom is my mom first and my manager second but I think she knows me better than anyone. And as an actor this is something that I was super ready to do. I wanted to do something that would really challenge myself and she knew that I wanted to do that so you know obviously she was like if you're comfortable with this, this would be an epic director to work with and a great experience for you, so I did it.
Would you have played any of the other girls? I don't know. Maybe if you asked me next year I probably could've but I'm totally the baby of the group in real life for sure. I think Faith was the perfect character for me to play.

On her new album: 'Creatively this is the most control I've had on a record, to be honest. They've all been a little more processed because I was doing the series at the same time. They wanted me to do a couple shows here or there so it was more about me going in to do a track that I loved and it being on the record.
This time, I got to work with numerous amount of producers that I wanted to work with. I would go in and create a bridge with someone, and start from the beginning of the process. From last year recording to now, I've gone through a lot and experienced a lot.
This is the hardest I've worked on a record for sure, so I'm excited. It's still super dance. It kind of touches into a little bit of an island-y feel, a little bit of a Spanish feel, and there some are very Ellie Goulding in a way. I'm kind of playing with a little bit of everything. It was super fun and hopefully it makes sense!'
On turning 21 in July: 'I'm definitely going to have a party. This is the big one. I'll probably throw a nice big party for me and my friends.' Would she jump into reality television? 'If I would consider it, it would probably be fashion-related because those are the ones that I'm totally into. I love working with my stylist and watching those shows. Or maybe cooking!'

Cosmopolitan writer has BASHED Selena Gomez's critically acclaimed film Spring Breakers. Director Harmony Korine is known for his cray-cray druggy art-house films, and Spring Breakers is no different. Unfortunately.
(Warning: Spoilers ahead..) I can't imagine what it must be like to grow up like Vanessa Hudgens or Selena Gomez, where you are forced to be a Role Model to Girls Everywhere not by choice, but because your big break turned you into the kind of star who is expected to stand up for all things pure and sweet and feminine.
Can you blame them for wanting to shed that label like a winter coat and take a f*****g vacation? What twentysomething girl wouldn't want to let loose on spring break?
'Harmony told me that it was going to be freeing,' Ashley Benson said, according to the production notes for the film, and any girl who has ever tried to Find Herself knows that nothing is more intoxicating than freedom.
The movie has more bongs, beer bongs, and bare breasts than any college frat party I've ever been to, but you could argue that there is more than a whisper of truth to this gritty excess, even when the images are uncomfortable:
A girl passed out on the floor next to a toilet filled with vomit; a lead actress writhing on the floor, soaked in beer, teasingly removing her bikini top as she slurs in a sing-song voice to the male partygoers next to her that they will never get her p***y.

'Selena First Choice For Spring Breakers'
Spring Breakers producer Harmony Korine VULTURE interview. On Mandy being a big fan: Yeah, Mandy! It blew my mind, you know. It actually still blows my mind that her mom is younger than I am! Selena was my first casting choice for the girls and I just threw that out to the casting agents, and the next day they said, 'She is going to fly in with her mom to audition for you at your house.'
And I was like, 'What?!' And I got nervous because I didn’t know anything about them personally and I figured they might be very religious because of the Disney affiliation and I didn’t want to scare them away, so I started flipping over a lot of artwork and photographs and things in my house that were maybe more graphic. Then Selena walked in and her mom was just like, 'Hey, I love your movies! I grew up on your films.'
What do you do to push the actors out of their comfort zones on a movie like this? In the beginning, you might be trying to talk someone into something.. and personality-wise, maybe they’re never going to get there. I don’t just mean the super-graphic stuff; there are places of honesty for an actor, and some actors don’t want to go to those places, and that’s fine. The thing is, I go for it.
I always go for it. If I see something that’s morally ambiguous or ambiguously beautiful or has some pull in some way, I won’t censor myself; I always run towards the light. And so I explain that to them. I say, 'Look, the script is not where this ends. The script is kind of where it begins.'
There's a scene where Franco takes Selena Gomez to a pool hall that you've populated with real-life criminals and lowlifes. I could feel she was genuinely unsettled there. It wasn't just acting. I know her so well, and I knew if I’d told her that scene was going to happen, she would be thinking about it and preparing for it, but I wanted Franco to try and fuck with her head to see what would happen.
I called him the night before and told him what I wanted him to achieve, and with her, she thought the shoot day was over when I took her by the arm and led her to this room where we had the camera and Franco waiting. I said, 'Hey, we’re going to do something that’s not in the script and I just want you to react to it and go for it.' She was freaked out. [Laughs.] I could also tell that she was a little bit exhilarated. I think the best acting she’s ever done is in that moment.

Selena 'Cried' Filming Spring Breakers
Selena Gomez told MTV: 'There is a scene in the movie where James Franco and I have a confrontation, a very awkward, uncomfortable confrontation. And I knew about that scene two minutes before we shot it. I was supposed to be finished for the day. We had finished the crying scene.
I was in the pool house and I was bawling and I was so tired of crying because you get exhausted from crying. I was like, 'Oh, I'm done.' [Director] Harmony [Korine] pulls me aside, and he goes, 'All right, so we're gonna do a scene in here with you and James.'
And he goes, 'He's going to convince you to stay with the girls.' and I go, 'OK, well, what do I say? Am I sad? Am I mad? Am I scared?' And he goes, 'Sure.' And I was like, 'Well, wait a minute. What's happening?'
[James] sat and he held my hand and I go, 'Oh my goodness. What's about to happen?' And that scene was absolutely intense and so real because I had no idea that that was going to happen, and he was so brilliant in it.
It was just my job to kind of give it back to him, but there was a point where I couldn't handle it anymore. It was like I was going head-to-head, and I bowed down. It was too intense. So that one is probably my favorite scene in the movie, it was just so great.'
