Shailene Woodley On Secret Life Finale

Shailene Woodley chatted with J-14 about The Secret Life of the American Teenager season finale that aired on ABC Family. Shailene dished: 'I hadn't seen it before, so it was pretty interesting. I thought it turned out really good.
I heard some reactions about how much they liked the emotion that Daren [Kagasoff] showed. I thought it was in his character, but it was cool to see him finally show it!' What's up next for Shai?
'We're filming season 2 right now. We're working with real babies, it's crazy!
The babies have been great and they haven't been crying a lot, they're very well-behaved babies!' Secret Life is back this summer.

Meaghan Jet Makes ABC Family Lineup

Following the success of 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager,' ABC Family picked up three new female-oriented series, comedies 'Ruby and the Rockits' and '10 Things I Hate About You' and drama 'Perfect 10', according to Hollywood Reporter. All three have received 10-episode orders.
Additionally, ABC Family has renewed college dramedy 'Greek' for a third season and black family drama 'Lincoln Heights' for a fourth season with 10-episode pickups, while canceling 3-year-old sci-fi mystery 'Kyle XY.'
'10 Things I Hate About You' centers are the Stratford sisters, the strong-willed Kat [Lindsey Shaw] and social butterfly Bianca [Meaghan Jette Martin]. 'Ruby and the Rockits' is a comedy from the Cassidy brothers: David, Shaun and Patrick. Patrick is a former teen idol who has chosen to lead a quiet life
with his wife and two sons.
But when his former Rockits bandmate and brother [David Cassidy] shows up unexpectedly with his newfound teenage daughter [Alexa Vega], the family's life becomes anything but normal.
Set in the world of gymnastics, 'Perfect 10' stars Peri Gilpin and follows a group of teen Olympic hopefuls as they train and prepare for their day in the spotlight.
Secret Life VERSUS Gossip Girl

ABC's The Secret Life Of The American Teenager will go head to head with CW's Gossip Girl tonight at 8 PM. From EW article: Amy Juergens [Shailene Woodley] has been fighting with her mom, Anne, whether to give 15 year old Amy's unborn baby up for adoption to a gay couple. Who work with her father, George, who cheated on Anne.
Shailene on the show, 'There are a lot of high schoolers who are going through this every day. What we're showing is like real life.' January episodes will kick off with a wedding, 'and not one of those weddings where someone rushes in at the last minute and stops it,' creator Brenda Hampton revealed.
Anne and George, however, will move toward divorce. Amy and her boyfriend, Ben, will grow closer while she continues to negotiate how much to involve her baby's father, Ricky, in her life. Shailene will give birth on the March 23 finale.

Secret Life of an American Teenager star Shailene Woodley was diagnosed with scoliosis [A severe curvation of the spine] at age 15. She told Us Weekly:
'It was like wearing a tacky, disgusting, plastic corset for 18 hours a day. In the beginning, it was hard to eat or breathe. And I had to give up cross country running. But I needed to have it on to realign my spine.'
Why didn't viewers ever see it on screen? 'I took it off for filming. My character, Amy, is pregnant, and I couldn't fit a prosthetic belly over the brace. But usually it wasn't for more than five or sex hours at a stretch, more than doable.'
