Charlie Puth is finally dishing on why he got passed over as a judge on the upcoming reboot of “American Idol.” Katy Perry got the job alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, but Charlie was in the running. He said the decision to pass on a chance to judge the singing reality show was a result of his concerns about scheduling.

Harry Styles is hitting the trail for the “Dunkirk” press campaign. The singer may have a relatively small role in the World War II movie, but his fame is a major boon to the movie’s visibility–even if director Christopher Nolan doesn’t know who he is. In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Harry talked about what went into cutting off his signature long hair for the role.
“When I auditioned for a movie that was set in World War II, I imagined I’d probably have to have a little trim,” Harry said with a smile and a chuckle. “It kind of went without saying and I was so excited to be involved in the movie, I didn’t really think too much.” Harry was highly motivated to get involved with the project, and he explained what drew him to the chance to be on the silver screen.
“I was so excited about this film,” Harry said. “I’m such a massive fan of Chris’s films.” The chance to work with the “Inception” director might’ve drawn Harry into this project, but he’s not ruling out future Hollywood parts even as he prepares for a massive tour.
“I haven’t really thought too much further ahead,” he said when asked if there was a future in movies for him. He did admit, “I loved doing this film.” Harry also joked about the prep work that went into his “Dunkirk” role.

Charlie Puth tried to put the moves on Access Hollywood co-hosts Natalie Morales and Kit Hoover in a recent interview in promotion of his new single, “Attention.” During the flirtatious interview, the singer revealed that he dated a woman over 40 at one point. “I don’t think it’s a big deal,” the singer said about his dating preferences.
Moving on to his actual single, Charlie revealed that the club scene featured in the video was inspired by a true story. “When we were going over treatments and stuff, I wanted it to be what really happened in my life. Like that crazy night in London…that nobody knows about,” the singer admitted. It wasn’t just the club scene that happened to Charlie, but he claims that the girl also threw glass at him.
“So when Samara was throwing the glass at me and like yelling at me…I cried a little bit because she made it feel so real,” Charlie said. “I had to go throw up downstairs. It was really bad.”

Team Valmani gave the hosts at “Access Hollywood Live” a chance to pepper them with questions about their almost-perfect “Mulan” dance routine from Monday. In the process, Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei reflected on her journey through “Dancing With The Stars” so far, including how intense things are getting now.
“I feel like I’ve learned a lot–definitely,” Normani shared. “And I feel that we’re getting even more heated just because of the intensity of the competition.” Normani seems like she wasn’t quite as ready as she thought she was when the show started: “I have a dance background, but this is a whole different ballgame.”
Her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, seems to be pretty proud of Normani’s progress. He sees a clear path forward to victory. “I just think that we need to steal the show every Monday night, four more times,” he said.
