Season 13 of “The Voice” debuted Monday night and with it came video of Miley Cyrus and the other coaches discussing what life was like for them at age 13. While Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Jennifer Hudson all shared tales of awkward middle school years, Miley remembered her first year as a teenager with a frown.

There’s over a month left before the season premiere of NBC’s “The Voice” and the return of coach Miley Cyrus. The first promotional photo for the season has been released featuring all four coaches standing next to a sand sculpture of “The Voice” logo.
Miley shared a few behind-the-scenes pictures with coaching newbie Jennifer Hudson who she has been very supportive of her since the season’s very beginning. “#Malibu with @iamjhud@nbcthevoice #TeamMiley #TeamJHud,” the “Malibu” singer captioned her photo with Jennifer.
“The Voice” will premiere September 25 on NBC.

As “The Voice” gears up or its 13th season, Miley Cyrus and the rest of the show’s coaches have been getting prepared. Miley, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and first-timer Jennifer Hudson have all selected their celebrity advisors for the new season. While Miley’s pick in season 11 was Joan Jett, she decided to go a little closer to home this time.
Billy Ray Cyrus will be joining Miley to help lend her some country credibility that might hurt Blake’s chances. The announcement came with a lot of fanfare from Miley, who took to Instagram to share her excitement.
“DAD ALWAYS HAS THE BEST ADVICE!” she wrote in the caption on a video she re-posted from “Good Morning America.” “Which of course makes him the perfect advisor!!!!!!” Billy Ray won’t be the only familiar face around this season.
Miley Cyrus is moving into the second phase of her first season as a coach on “The Voice.” Team Miley is officially built and now they enter the Battle Rounds of the competition, where its members will face off with teams built by Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. In a new promo video from NBC, each of the four coaches shows off the special guest they’re inviting to help their singers out. Charlie Puth is among those coming to the party, but he’s not there for Miley.
Charlie will be mentoring for Team Alicia. But don’t worry about any bad blood: Miley and Alicia have had each other’s backs through the blind auditions. Rock legend Joan Jett will join Miley as she coaches her team. Sammy Hagar will help out with Team Adam and Bette Midler will help Team Blake.

Ahead of the second week of blind auditions, coaches on NBC’s “The Voice” got together for a game night of their own. Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys partnered up as “Newbies” while Adam Levine and Blake Shelton paired off as “Veterans” in a round of charades. The four competitive personalities combined for possibly the fiercest part of the season thus far.
As their team name would suggest, Adam and Blake walked away victorious. Miley brushed off the defeat and allowed it to incite a powerful promise. “Good news is this is the only time we’re going to lose on the entire show, so don’t worry,” she tells Alicia. “This isn’t the game we’re worried about winning.”

A new sneak peek for this season of NBC’s “The Voice” has come out just in time for the premiere tonight. While Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are the only ones to press their buzzers, the entire row of coaches are brought to their feet after 16-year-old Riley Elmore croons to Frank Sinatra.
“I cannot believe you are 16 right now with that voice,” Miley Cyrus shouts in disbelief. The new coach continues to offer a few words as Adam and Blake duke it out to snatch up Riley. “I have a question for you,” Miley asks. “Is this the kind of lane you wanna be in? Because there isn’t someone usually your age that honors this style.”
Check out the latest preview for “The Voice” below and tune into NBC at 8/7c to catch the premiere.
