As the civil war in Aleppo, Syria reached a new fever pitch, celebrities reacted to the humanitarian crisis on the ground in the city. Lindsay Lohan, who’s been very active in trying to raise awareness of the Syrian refugee crisis, was among those calling attention to the emergency situation as the last of the rebel resistance in the city’s eastern areas crumbled. She was joined by other celebs like Bella Hadid and Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei.
Lindsay shared a link to a story about Bana al-Abed, a 7-year-old girl whose Twitter account went viral as she and her mother documented the warfare in Aleppo. Aside from making friends with refugee children in Turkey, Lindsay had been donating proceeds from her Athens nightclub to help Syrian civilians.
Bella shared a graphic photo of the carnage, asking if anyone could comment with ways to help. Normani shared a similar message, but she could’ve directed Bella to her Fifth Harmont bandmate Lauren Jauregui who’s been using social media to call attention to the crisis in the midst of her citation for marijuana possession.
