The 2016 BBC Music Awards aired Monday night in London and Adele reigned victorious among a short list of awards. The singer snagged BBC Music’s “Song of the Year” with “Hello” as well as Radio 2’s “Album of the Year” with “25.” Adele was unable to attend, but she sent messages to go along with each win.
“I’m so sorry I’m not there,” her message for “Song of the Year” begins. “It’s been a long year on the road and this makes me feel a little less homesick.” British singer Robbie Williams accepted the second award on her behalf. “Hello, it’s me. As you have gathered, I am not Adele,” he jokes. Robbie goes on to read her second message. “Thank you for this award. I feel a bit bat winning it since the album has been out for so long, but nevertheless, you know I love you,” she says through Robbie.
