Demi Lovato is known the world over for her impressive set of pipes (and ability to start Twitter beefs out of thin air). Christmas day, the pop star pulled up a chair for a special BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge appearance. After playing a comedy critic, Demi sang “Skyscraper” from her 2011 album “Unbroken” and things got rough.
Lorde was the latest guest to stop by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Her appearance was part of the station’s 50th anniversary so, for her performance, she opted to cover a “classic British song” in celebration along with her own “Green Light.” Lorde took on Phil Collins’ iconic “In the Air Tonight” and stayed very true to the original 1981 version.
“It wasn’t until I got older that I really realized how magical he was and went through this crazy journey of all the Genesis stuff and all his own records,” Lorde said of Collins ahead of the performance. “He’s such a pioneer—his melodies and his drums—and I’m so inspired by him and he pushes me to be better.”

Miley Cyrus gave a mini BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge concert from the comforts of her Malibu recording studio on Friday morning. The singer sang her current singles and also brought back oldies like “See You Again” and “Party in the U.S.A.”
The singer didn’t just sing her most popular hits, she also covered a classic from Roberta Flack called “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.” Miley sat down with Live Lounge host Clara Amfo to discuss how she’s approaching her new music compared to her infamous twerking days of 2013.
“Teaching my fans about responsibility is my number-one priority and I guess with ‘Bangerz’ and in 2013 it was really about freedom,” the singer says about her growth as a musician.
