Music awards season is once again underway and Billboard is picking up where the ACM Awards left off with its 2018 nominations. The first batch of nominees is unsurprising as the nominees were announced on The TODAY Show by Khalid and Bebe Rexha.

If you have no idea what we’re talking about, that’s okay, because this award wasn’t a Billboard award. The award was from musical.ly and was given to Hailee while she was on the magenta carpet. The award was fan-voted and Hailee won over nominees The Chainsmokers, Noah Cyrus, DJ Khaled, and Julia Michaels.

Camila Cabello and Miley Cyrus weren’t the only artists to hit the stage for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. Ed Sheeran, Lorde and Halsey were all musical guests, giving forgettable performances either in Las Vegas or in Chile.
Although this should’ve been the perfect time for Lorde to debut a new song, the singer decided that “Green Light” was the best song to deliver with a karaoke-style performance. The singer had the right idea for anyone who may forget the words to their own track as the song’s lyrics flashed across a television screen.
Halsey also hit the stage performing a song that many feel is just her rip-off of Rihanna’s “Needed Me.” Dressed in all white and a sheer do-rag, the singer performed “Now or Never” which included some interesting dance moves. Ed, who is currently still on tour, joined the awards show with his performance of “Castle On The Hill,” even though “Galway Girl” is his current single.

Miley Cyrus gave an emotional performance of her comeback single “Malibu” that left her in tears. Introduced by her biggest stans, Noah Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus got the crowd ready for the singer who wore pants “for the first time in years.”
Looking like she was doing an impression of Lady Gaga during the “Joanne” era, Miley’s performance was equipped with a Malibu backdrop and huge balloons falling on the crowd.

Camila Cabello played second fiddle at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards after Nicki Minaj gave a nine-minute performance that should’ve only lasted four. Singing “I Have Questions” and “Crying in the Club” for the first time on television, Camila solidified herself as a solo act after constantly being a featured artist.
EVen though it started off as a shaky performance, Camila quickly bounced back for an energetic set. However, while the former Fifth Harmony singer showed that she could clearly work a stage, there were weaknesses that at one point in time would have been ignored due to her having four other women beside her. Camila left herself speechless after leaving the stage with a tweet that literally had no words.

Noah Cyrus had some time to talk to Billboard on Sunday night before doing her presenter duties for Miley Cyrus’ performance at the awards ceremony. The young Cyrus just kick started her music career and knows that she still has a lot to learn about performing in front of an audience.
“I still don’t know what I’m doing at all,” Noah admitted to no objection. “Every time I go on stage it’s like I’ve never been on before and I freeze up right before,” the singer revealed, explaining why her performances aren’t the best. Noah spoke about her future album “NC-17,” which has no release date in sight since she can’t seem to stop recording music for it, but confirmed fans can expect it this fall.
“It has to be out by the end of this year no matter what cause NC-17 will be over,” she said.
