While Selena Gomez and Camila Cabello were both accepting their Billboard Women In Music awards, the two singers were already plotting to ruin 2018. Billboard spoke to all of this year’s Women In Music honorees to get their New Year’s resolutions and neither of the pop stars have plans to slow down any time soon.

Monday, Billboard announced to the world that Ariana Grande was its Female Artist of the Year. Although Ariana graciously accepted the honor, fans couldn’t help but call the charting publication out for overlooking her in its Women in Music event. It seems the award was nothing more than salt in the wound.
After an incredibly intense year, Selena Gomez was overwhelmed with gratitude upon receiving Billboard’s “Woman of the Year” award. The 2017 Billboard Women in Music event was held on Thursday and Selena broke down in tears almost immediately after accepting the big honor.
Selena Gomez is being honored as one of Billboard’s Women of the Year. Despite some of the backlash that followed the announcement, it appears as if Selena is taking the award with a lot of dignity and pride. In a leaked segment from Billboard, the singer explains what it means to be a woman in music today.
Camila Cabello continues to come out as the winner in the race to be better than Fifth Harmony. After getting her first UK number one with “Havana,” Billboard recently announced that the singer will also be honored at the Women In Music awards as this year’s “Breakthrough Artist.”
Billboard is celebrating another year of Women in Music and has announced that Kesha will receive the “Trailblazer” award at the upcoming event. “She’s a force on stage, an inspiration in person and a true Trailblazer for millions of music fans around the world,” says co-president and Chief Creative Officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group Janice Min.
This year’s honorees also include “Chart Topper” award recipient Meghan Trainor and Halsey who will receive the “Rising Star” award. Each of women will perform at the event which takes place on December 9 before airing on Lifetime on December 11.
