Bridgit Mendler Working On 2nd Album!

bridgit-mendler-good-luck-charlie (4)Bridgit Mendler Yahoo! interview: Good Luck Charlie has finally entered with Bridgit’s character heading off to Yale: ‘Mia [Talerico] was the most impressive baby I’ve ever worked with. It was fun going through all her different stages of babyhood with her.’

On dating Shane Harper: ‘I think everybody was very respectful about it and wanted to make sure that it wouldn’t be weird to see the relationship going on on the show at the same time. It was wonderful the way that everybody was kind of a family and looked out for each other.’

On her second album: ‘I’ve been buckling down to work on album number two for the past few months. I would love to get more acting roles, but for the time being I’m focusing on music.’

On career paths of Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez: ‘I think it’s a really interesting transition time for any young woman. Starting a TV show as a teenager and leaving it as an adult, you kind of enter into the real world after this time that you were in this safe little bubble. I think it’s really a gift to do those years through the channel. I applaud those ladies.’

She’s an investor in a cool app start-up, has 77 million followers between Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and she’s using her star power to help children around the world succeed as UNICEF’s youngest-ever goodwill ambassador. Selena on feeling powerful:

This year is when I really started feeling powerful. I had always been the underdog secretly. I was on Disney when it was Miley, Jonas Brothers, and Demi. I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote.

Then I turned 20, went through a really bad breakup, and realized I needed to have ‘Come & Get It’ be amazing. I wanted it all to be me. I’m glad it’s taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it.’ The REST under!

Good Luck Charlie 100th Episode Finale + Disney Same Sex Parents Support

Good Luck Charlie‘s four-season, 100-episode run will come to a close on Sunday, Feb. 16, with the hour-long send-off of ‘Good-Bye, Charlie,’ Disney Channel has announced. In that final episode, Teddy finds it hard to shoot a final video diary for her little sister Charlie, while Amy and Bob plan a special going away party for their college-bound daughter. Will Teddy’s ex-boyfriend Spencer be a surprise RSVP?

Good Luck Charlie will air an episode (this Sunday, I have confirmed) that features same-sex parents in a subplot “developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness,” the cabler previously explained. Are YOU happy that Disney is now open to featuring same-sex couples on their network? Are you happy/sad that Good Luck Charlie is over?

tumblr_muh2l1v9sl1rebce4o1_500

According to Official Charts: 10. Lindsay Lohan 9. Hilary Duff 8. Bridgit Mendler 7. Selena Gomez 6. Vanessa Hudgens 5. Christina Milian 4. Demi Lovato 3. Miley Cyrus 2. Christina Aguilera. 1. Britney Spears. BREAKDOWN UNDER!

UPDATE: Miley revealed she wants Britney Spears collaboration SMS ‘F*CKING BANGERZ’ to be released as her next single from new album Bangerz” ‘I hope ‘SMS (Bangerz)’ with Britney. That would be awesome. I can’t quit thinking about what the video with Britney would look like. But also, Adore You is in the top 10 right now of iTunes, which I didn’t really expect, so that’s really cool too.’

10. Lindsay Lohan

She may be best-known for her tabloid headlines and reformed ways after years of hellraising, but did you know that Parent Trap child star Lindsay Lohan also had a go at a pop career in 2005? She’d been singing songs on the soundtracks of her big movies like Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Herbie: Fully Loaded, but she also released a few singles and an album, Speak, in 2005. Sales: Lindsay has sold over 50,000 copies of her tracks in the UK. Biggest hit: Over, her only entry on the Official Singles Chart, peaked at Number 27 in May 2005.

9. Hilary Duff

Making her name as ditzy teen Lizzie McGuire, Hilary Duff has gone on to be one of the most successful all-rounders from the Disney stable, becoming a fashion designer and an author alongside her acting career. Hilary has got the pop smarts too – in the US she’s released four albums. Her debut hit in the UK was So Yesterday, reaching Number 9 in November 2003. She’s had five Top 40 singles and two albums hit the Top 40. Sales: Hilary’s tracks have notched up over 300,000 sales. Biggest hit: Wake Up peaked at Number 7 in November 2005.

8. Bridgit Mendler

The cheery star of Disney’s TV series Good Luck Charlie since 2010, started out as a backing vocalist, before performing in her own right on the soundtrack of movie Lemonade Mouth. After a few promotional singles for other shows she was working on, Bridgit Mendler was finally ready to break out on her own, releasing debut pop single Ready Or Not, which peaked at Number 7 in March 2013. Sales: Bridgit has racked up over 305,000 sales of her songs. Biggest hit: Still Ready Or Not, but we’re sure there’s more to come.

7. Selena Gomez

After guest appearances on Miley Cyrus’s patch on Hannah Montana, Selena was ready to strike out on her own as the smart-mouthed Alex in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. She had her first UK hit with her band Selena Gomez and the Scene, back in 2010. In July 2013, the Scene were nowhere to be, errr, seen when Selena had her first solo hit with Come & Get It, reaching Number 8. Sales: Selena’s songs have sold over 645,000 copies. She’s also shifted 196,000 albums. Biggest hit: That very first hit, Naturally, which peaked at Number 7.

6. Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens had been popping up on the Disney Channel from an early age, but it was her role as Gabriella in High School Musical, alongside heartthrob and future boyfriend Zac Efron that made Vanessa a megastar. She has never made the Official Singles Chart on her own, but she has enjoyed success as part of the cast of High School Musical, four Top 40 hits in total. Sales: Solo, her tracks have sold almost 70,000 copies, although none have made it into the Top 40. As part of the HSM crew, she’s racked up over 590,000 sales. Biggest hit: With the rest of the High School Musical gang, Breaking Free hit Number 9 in September 2006.

5. Christina Milian

Long before she was shaking her thing on Top Of The Pops (yes, it was still going when she first appeared), Christina Milian was a regular on Disney’s Movie Surfers. After a guest spot on Ja Rule’s 2001 hit Between You And Me, Christina launched her solo career with A.M. To P.M., reaching Number 3 in January 2002. She went on to have more hits, and also co-wrote and did backing vocals on one of Jennifer Lopez’s biggest hits Play. Listen carefully and you can hear The Milian on the chorus. Sales: Christina has notched up over 752,000 singles sales and over 185,000 albums. Biggest hit: Dip It Low got to Number 2 in 2004. her biggest seller is 2002’s When You Look At Me, which has sold 184.000 copies.

4. Demi Lovato

In the mid- to late-Noughties, Demi Lovato was almost a permanent fixture on Disney TV shows. Cutting her teeth on movies like Camp Rock and hit show Sonny with a Chance, it wouldn’t be long before Demi was picking up a mic and launching a pop career. She first hit the Official Singles Chart in 2008 on a duet with Joe Jonas, This Is Me. She’s best known right now for being a judge on the US version of The X Factor, taking her place alongside Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio, but the hits keep on coming. Her latest hit Skyscraper is at Number 7 this week. Sales: Demi’s tracks have shifted over 780,000 copies and over 105,000 albums. Biggest hit: Heart Attack peaked at Number 3 in May 2013, and has sold over 250,000 copies.

3. Miley Cyrus

So here she is, Smiley Miley, in third place in our Disney princess countdown. We’re still holding out for Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Belle from Beauty and the Beast to be our Top 2 (err, wrong kind of Disney Princess – Fairytale Ed). The daughter of Achy Breaky Heart star Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley started out, of course, on Hannah Montana, as a teenager who lived a double life, moonlighting as a famous singer. While she just missed the Top 40 as her alter ego, Miley has notched up nine hits under her own name, with no doubt more to come now that she has unleashed her Bangerz upon the world and all that twerking and whatnot. Sales: Miley’s tracks have a sales tally of 2.5 million (more than you thought, right?) which includes 430,000 as Hannah Montana. Biggest hit: Miley’s first Number 1 was We Can’t Stop back in August. It’s sold over 375,000 copies so far. Can Wrecking Ball demolish that record?

2. Christina Aguilera

As soon as the Genie was released from its Bottle, former Mickey Mouse Club star Christina Aguilera was destined for success. After that first Number 1 in 1999, Christina would go on to have three more – Dirrty, Beautiful and Lady Marmalade with Pink, Mya and Lil’ Kim. She’s scored 22 Top 40 hits, 16 of them going Top 10. Sales: She has sold over 1.9 million copies of her second album Stripped – it’s the biggest selling album out of all the artists we’ve listed here – and has shifted over 3.3 million albums in total. Albums aside, Christina has sold 6.1 million singles in the UK. Biggest hit: Christina’s biggest seller in the UK isn’t even a Number 1. Her collaboration with Maroon 5, Moves Like Jagger, has racked up a whopping 1.4 million sales since its release in 2011 – but it only got to Number 2. Solo, her top seller is Genie In A Bottle – her very first Number 1 has sold 694,000 copies.

1. Britney Spears

Well, look who it is. Fancy seeing you here, Britney. Yes, it comes as no surprise that taking the biggest crown of all the Disney princesses is none other than Britney Spears, another breakout star of the Mickey Mouse Club. Since her first smash in 1999 with …Baby One More Time, Brit has clocked up 28 Top 40 hits on the Official Singles Chart, with 22 of those going Top 10 and six of them hitting Number 1. And it looks like there are more to come. She’s about to release her eighth studio album and has signed to do a two-year residency in Las Vegas called Britney Spears: Piece of Me. New single Work Bitch is coming soon. Sales: Britney’s singles sales weigh in at 8.1 million, putting her comfortably on her throne. She’s shifted 4.9 million albums and her new one is on the way. Biggest hit: Her top seller is still …Baby One More Time, which has sold over 1.5 million copies.
