Costa Rican authorities arrested a man who threatened to bomb Ariana Grande’s Sunday night concert in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The man, a Colombian identified by the family names Caicedo Lopez, reportedly made threats to bomb the concert online. Lead investigator Walter Espinoza told local media that the suspect’s online threats were written in Arabic.
The threat comes after Ariana’s concert in Manchester, England was bombed in May. That attack killed 22 and disrupted Ariana’s “Dangerous Woman Tour” as she recovered from the shocking incident. Ariana eventually returned to the stage to close out her tour’s European leg before heading to South America, but not before a massive benefit show in Manchester.
The Costa Rica show went ahead as planned Sunday night. Tuesday, authorities noted that the suspect was later released on Sunday night. He remains on parole while the investigation is underway.
