Miley Cyrus And The Happy Hippie Foundation Team Up With Converse For Pride

Miley Cyrus And The Happy Hippie Foundation Team Up With Converse For Pride featureMiley Cyrus wants everyone to walk a mile in her shoes. And she teamed up with Converse for a special line of Pride-themed Chuck Taylor’s so each step taken will be in style. The singer was even sporting a pair of the new shoes at the Capital Pride show she played in Washington, D.C.

The new shoes are doing more than just lining Converse’s pockets, though. According to posts from the company owned by Nike, net proceeds from sales of the rainbow-covered sneakers will benefit the Happy Hippie Foundation and the It Gets Better Project.

Both It Gets Better and Miley’s Happy Hippies help LGBTQ youth, especially those threatened with homelessness.

Miley Cyrus Dusts Off Her Throwback Hits For Capital Pride

Miley Cyrus Brings Her Throwback Hits To Capital Pride featureMiley Cyrus helped Washington, D.C. celebrate its annual Pride event from the stage. Miley attended Capital Pride, the city’s annual parade and festival celebrating the LGBTQ community, over the weekend. And she pulled out a real golden oldie for her on-stage set.

Miley sang “Party in the U.S.A.” to close out her set for the crowd. The song even got a new star-spangled guitar solo for the D.C. event. She also brought back “We Can’t Stop” just before that as she closed with some of her old hits.

She still brought her new, good girl tracks “Malibu” and “Inspired” to the stage. To help bridge the gap between her new and old tunes, Miley also threw in her cover of “Jolene” by Dolly Parton.
