Gigi Hadid Strategically Apologizes For Being Racist featureGigi Hadid has issued a very official apology after Chinese fans expressed outrage that she was coming to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, China. Many of China’s fashion fanatics don’t want her there because of a video in which Gigi mocks a Buddha cookie by squinting her eyes.

Gigi’s apology was shared via Weibo, a social media site largely exclusive to China. In it, she offers up an I’m-still-learning defense as she takes a stand against racism in favor of inclusivity.

“I want you all to know that it was never my intent to offend anyone through my actions, and I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt or felt let down by me,” Gigi wrote.
