Zendaya’s woke status has landed her among a who’s who of the nation’s leading black women. Essence Magazine has released the full line-up for it’s “Woke 100,” a list of 100 black women making changes in politics, arts and culture.
Zendaya joins prominent leaders like U.S. Representative Maxine Waters, Senator Kamala Harris and former First Lady Michele Obama. She’s also joined by a couple of her contemporaries–including one of her best friends.
Yara Shahidi is on the list, as well. Yara stars in “Blackish” and she’s Zendaya’s pick as a contender for one of the 2017 Glamour Woman of the Year awards. Willow Smith is there, too. Willow has been picking her shots in music and fashion. Maybe she could get a gig with Zendaya’s clothing line?
