Rihanna matched some of her Fenty products to a strapless light purple dress with a lot of body to it. Combined with a matching veil and some strappy silver sandals, Rihanna looked like she was feeling herself in pics and video from the event.

So Long Kylie Cosmetics, Rihanna Has Saved The Beauty Industry With Fenty Beauty

Rihanna launches Fenty Beauty-1After months of teasing, the anticipation is over and Rihanna has launched Fenty Beauty. The singer’s new makeup line debuted with full livestream of the  New York Fashion Week event before heading to Sephora in Times Square.

“I wanted a color that looked good on all skin tones … it’s really important for me in every product,” Rihanna told reporters. “There are so many different shades and undertones. You just never know so you want people to appreciate the product and not feel like ‘It only looks cute on her.'” Rihanna didn’t just shake hands and kiss babies, but also jumped behind the register to do the first transaction of her beauty product.

“This is my very first Fenty Beauty customer, this is the very first purchase of life,” Rihanna said before thanking Sephora employees and customers.

Rihanna releases first Fenty Beauty ad campaignRihanna is coming for Kylie Jenner’s crown in the cosmetics industry. However, unlike Kylie’s lip kits, Fenty Beauty is a celebration of diversity, not a celebration of fulfilling Kardashian prototype.

On Friday, the singer released the first campaign for her upcoming beauty line featuring a bevy of models of all skin tones, including Halima Aden who became the first Hijab-wearing model to cover Allure Magazine.

Fenty Beauty will be available starting Friday, September 7 at Sephora.
