The 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards, considered to be the “Oscars of Shoes,” were held Tuesday night. Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma Creepers snagged the award for “Shoe of the Year.” The singer accepted the honor and explained how the win makes her proud to be a woman as well as a “young woman from Barbados, especially.”
“I didn’t expect people to love it the way I do, and the way they’ve supported it means so much to me,” she continued. Rihanna then dedicated the award to “all the Creeper fans and all the kids in the street that inspire me just by doing things their own way.”
Zendaya also appeared at the event where she posed for pictures with designer Michael Kors. The 30th annual FNAAs also recognized Daya by Zendaya as “Launch of the Year.”
