Justin Bieber was one of the biggest names at “Hand In Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief” on Tuesday night. The star-studded telethon featured celebrities talking to folks who wanted to donate to aid effort for people struggling after hurricanes smashed into Houston, Texas and much of the state of Florida.
Justin was more than just a famous face at the event, though. It gave him a chance to stand alongside some other religious leaders to introduce an interfaith prayer for the people of Houston and Florida.
“I’m super grateful to be part of this cause,” Justin said on air. “We don’t want you guys to just watch, we want you guys to be a part of this and donate, whatever you can, it doesn’t have to be much — just whatever you can possibly give.”
Originally meant for just a cameo appearance and a single song in Bill Murray’s Netflix Christmas special, “A Very Murray Christmas,” Miley Cyrus ended up being critical to the production, arguably stealing the show with multiple appearances and three songs. In the final cut of the special that aired last night, Miley sings the Christmas classics. “Sleigh Ride,” “Let It Snow” and a soulful rendition of “Silent Night” that is being called by some the special’s most memorable moment.
Yesterday, Vanity Fair ran a piece reprinting quotes from costars Bill Murray and George Clooney raving about Miley’s part in the special – and her willingness to go beyond her original small role in ways that might have saved the special when rapper Rick Ross failed to show for the taping. Bill made headlines when he praised the “Dooo It!” singer, saying “It was stunning to work with her … She came through in a huge way for us.” And George called Miley ” fantastic and fun and a real pro.”
