Demi Lovato has been announced as a performer at the Global Citizen India festival. She joins Coldplay and Jay-Z as some of the biggest international acts to add their names to the bill. The festival is set up to address global issues like education, gender equality, water quality and access to sanitation.
Demi posted about her booking with the festival on social media. The “Confident” singer does a lot of activism work, and the move makes sense as gender equality is an issue close to her heart. She already brought her brand of girl power to a performance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York this year.
As the year nears its end, Demi is facing down the hiatus she promised for 2017. She’s said she’d like to use that break to focus on her mental health activism, but could Demi have the best of both worlds with concerts like this?
Demi will take the stage in Mumbai on November 19. Fans can earn free tickets to the concert by doing online activism like signing petitions and tweeting about issues.
