Miley Cyrus put the Easter outfit away and put on something more sophisticated. Over the weekend, Miley attended the My Friend’s Place 30th Anniversary Gala wearing a black-and-white ensemble that showed off her toned stomach.
Miley Cyrus wants everyone to walk a mile in her shoes. And she teamed up with Converse for a special line of Pride-themed Chuck Taylor’s so each step taken will be in style. The singer was even sporting a pair of the new shoes at the Capital Pride show she played in Washington, D.C.
The new shoes are doing more than just lining Converse’s pockets, though. According to posts from the company owned by Nike, net proceeds from sales of the rainbow-covered sneakers will benefit the Happy Hippie Foundation and the It Gets Better Project.
Both It Gets Better and Miley’s Happy Hippies help LGBTQ youth, especially those threatened with homelessness.

After a tearful post-election video, Miley Cyrus decided to channel her passion toward a new campaign called #HopefulHippies designed with her Happy Hippie Foundation in mind. The singer asks that people pledge their support “to act on issues we care about” and her good friend Rita Ora has made a pledge of her own.
“In support of one of my ladies @mileycyrus I pledge to always support one another, the beauty of love to love and the LGBTQ community,” Rita writes in a touching Instagram post. She goes on to name animal rights, right to education and freedom of speech as causes she cares most about. “I am for sure a #HopefulHippie,” she adds.
