Halsey Makes Directorial Debut In Grisly “Now Or Never” Music Video

Halsey Makes Her Directorial Debut With Now Or Never Music Video featureHalsey dropped the first single off of her upcoming album on Tuesday. “Now Or Never” marks fans’ first chance to hear what “hopeless fountain kingdom” will sound like. It’s only one song to go off of, but the track is moody and reminiscent of Rihanna’s “Needed Me.” Coupled with the R&B-infused slow jam is a new music video that Halsey is calling her “directorial debut.” She apparently had a ton of creative control in the 6-minute visual. Her fingerprints are all over the video with its tarot, ’90s-era “Romeo and Juliet” vibes and even the little bit of “Mad Max: Fury Road” feel.

Does Halsey Hate Her Fans?

Does Halsey Hate Her Fans? feature aHalsey has revealed the album art for her upcoming full-length, “hopeless fountain kingdom.” But she didn’t do it alone. In an Instagram post revealing the art publicly, Halsey shared that she sent fans in nine territories around the world on a scavenger hunt for tiny guns, which were actually USB drives. Fans had to find two images on the flash drives and tweet them with the hashtag “#FindMeInTheKingdom.” The album art wasn’t all she revealed.

At the time the nine sets of photos were found, Halsey started to piece together two covers on findmeinthekingdom.com. Halsey kept adding new GPS coordinates to the website as she filled in three by three puzzles.

The puzzles revealed the Romeo and Juliet-inspired album artwork for her new LP and the release date for the first single off the album. Halsey’s put a countdown clock up on the site for the April 4 release.

It’s another immersive fan experience in the lead up to her album.
