Watch Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson Give Their Emotional Acceptance Speech for “Shallow” at the Golden Globes

Gaga Ronson Golden GlobesThe writing team behind the Billboard Hot 100 No.1 hit “Shallow” – Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and Anthony Rossomando – took home the award for ‘Best Original Song in a Motion Picture’ at last night’s Golden Globes.

The song from the soundtrack of the motion picture A Star Is Born beat out several other strong contenders for the prize. The other contenders included Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All the Stars” from Black Panther and Troye Sivan and Jonsi’s “Revelation” from Boy Erased.

The award might have been a little bittersweet for the team of composers, as A Star Is Born did not do nearly as well at the awards show as expected. Below we have videos of Gaga and Mark’s emotional acceptance speeches and press room Q&A. We also have a clip of Gaga’s co-writers sharing secrets about Gaga without her there. Continue Reading →

But Gaga did not go home empty-handed. She was able to take the stage in her Judy Garland-inspired look and receive the ‘Best Original Song’ award. And she received it from the person who for many observers unexpectedly became the real story of the night: Taylor Swift.   Continue Reading →

2019 Grammy Nominations: It’s Rap’s Year So Pop Queens Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift Got Very Little Love

Kendrick Lamar DrakeIt looks like it is rap’s year, at least as far as the nominations for the 2019 Grammy awards are concerned. Not only were the two artists with the highest number of main-category nominations — Kendrick Lamar (with 8 nominations) and Drake (with 7 nominations) — rap heavy-hitters, but established pop acts were hard to find among the nominees for various top award categories.

Some, in fact, might find the absence of two pop queens from most categories especially Continue Reading →
